Storm prop faces 2 match ban

Melbourne Storm prop Alex Chan faces a two week stint on the sidelines after being charged with a grade one reckless high tackle on St George Illawarra?s Ryan Powell, during the first half of Sunday?s 28-point win over the Dragons.

Following today?s release of National Rugby League charges from round three of the Telstra Premiership, Chan is looking at a two-week ban for an early plea or risks three weeks out if he decides to contest the charge.

Chan was penalised in the 13th minute for a high shot on Powell during Sunday?s match at Olympic Park, however, the Storm will decide tomorrow whether or not it will contest the charge.

Chan has been in good form for Melbourne since crossing from the Eels in the off-season and if suspended, will be sorely missed as the Storm heads to Brisbane this week, followed by a clash with the Panthers in round five.

STORM TRAINING THIS WEEK Tuesday: 2pm, Olympic Park Wednesday: 11am, Olympic Park Thursday: 3.30pm, Olympic Park Saturday: 10am, Olympic Park
