Super League Saturday - Preview

Warrington Wolves hope to cement their place back into the top six when Castleford Tigers visit Wilderspool in Saturday's ESL encounter.

The Wolves slipped to seventh in the table last week when they were pipped 21-20 by Andy Farrell's last minute drop goal at Wigan, while Castleford's comfortable win over Widnes moved them up to fifth place on the ladder.

The Tigers produced arguably their best display of the campaign with a 40-2 thumping of Widnes at The Jungle last weekend.

Winger Darren Rogers grabbed a confidence-boosting brace to end his barren spell, while youngsters Tom Saxton, Jonny Heworth and Andy McNally also touched down.

With players like Francis Maloney, Mark Lennon, Paul Mellor and Lee Harland still sidelined, they are likely to keep their places in the side this weekend

Paul Jackson's absence with a shoulder injury could lead to veteran Dean Sampson coming out of retirement to fill in at prop, while Wayne Godwin could return from his ankle injury.

Warrington have Nathan Wood back after he was a late withdrawal from their team which faced Wigan with food poisoning, while Dean Gaskell is pressing for a place in the squad.
