Tallis complaint dropped

An assault complaint against former Brisbane Test forward and National Rugby League boardmember Gorden Tallis has been dropped.

Tallis was allegedly involved in an incident with a bar staffer at Brisbane's Regatta Hotel early on Monday. But police say a complaint against Tallis has been withdrawn.

The former Brisbane captain Tallis was out having drinks with his wife Christine and other ex-players when the alleged incident occurred. He says while making no admissions or accepting any blame, he later apologised to the hotel manager and the male staff member.

NRL boss David Gallop says Tallis has advised other board members about the matter which he expects will be discussed at the next board meeting.
