Tate battles to play on Friday

Brisbane centre Brent Tate will continue his battle to play in Friday night's NRL clash with the Dragons when the Broncos train on the Gold Coast later today.

Tate, who is struggling with a neck injury suffered a fortnight ago against the Warriors, looked unconvincing when Brisbane trained at Tugun yesterday morning. However, the Test three-quarter will be given until Thursday to prove his fitness to play St George Illawarra.

Halfback Scott Prince is expected to be named in an extended Broncos squad for the last home game of the season at Suncorp Stadium with the Brisbane team trying to snap a six-game losing streak heading into the finals.
