Terry O'Connor Inducted into Irish League
Hall of Fame

Wigan Warriors prop Terry O'Connor was rewarded for his contribution to Rugby League in Ireland with a place in their Hall of Fame at the weekend. O'Connor was one of the guests at Rugby League Ireland's St Patrick's Day dinner on Saturday, which was held in Huddersfield.

He followed Tom McKinney, Bob Kelly, Jack Daly, Paddy Reid and Seamus McCallion in being named in the RLI Hall of Fame, in a surprise announcement.

"It is a total surprise and I am very honoured," said O'Connor. "Playing for Ireland has been one of the high points of my career and it's an honour to included alongside such great names.

"The 2000 World Cup was probably the time I have enjoyed myself most in international football. The atmosphere and reception we received in Ireland was unbelievable."

Funds from the dinner will be put towards helping the Irish domestic Rugby League competition, and there are already plans to repeat the event in 2005.
