The Bulls form returns

Powerhouse winger Lesley Vainikolo scored a hat-trick of tries as Bradford rediscovered their form to halt their worst-ever Super League run and end Huddersfield?s three-match winning sequence with a 54-10 victory.

The Bulls, beaten in each of their last three matches, ran in 10 tries to hit the half-century mark for the first time this season and climb back into the top six.

Storming performances from Great Britain forwards Stuart Fielden and Jamie Peacock laid the platform for Iestyn Harris and Robbie Paul, revelling in his old half-back slot, to give the Huddersfield defence the run-around.

Paul took over the number seven role from Paul Deacon, who began the game at hooker, while Harris took over the goalkicking, landing six from seven attempts to underline his importance to the side.

The Bulls never looked back after scoring four tries in the first 26 minutes while Vainikolo threatened to win the game on his own, using his awesome power to touch down twice in the first 11 minutes.

With Great Britain three-quarter Stuart Reardon sidestepping his way over and winger Karl Pratt diving onto Iestyn Harris? grubber kick for another try, the Giants were in danger of being overwhelmed.

Little went right for the visitors, who were forced to re-shuffle their back division with the loss of full-back Paul Reilly after only 13 minutes.

They managed to stem the Bradford onslaught and pressed the home defence with some enterprising rugby without being able to find the killer touch against an impressive cover defence.

Former Australian Test centre Michael De Vere, switched to full-back following the injury to Reilly, had the best chance of the first half but he spilled Stanley Gene?s pass in Lee Radford?s tackle just short of the line.

Reilly returned to the action five minutes into the second half but his side were trailing 30-0 by then.

Any hope of a Huddersfield comeback was ended within 30 seconds of the re-start when Reardon punished a handling error by Gene to gift Paul a try and the one-way traffic continued when Radford sent Jamie Langley over for a try before finishing off a break by Harris to score himself.

Huddersfield?s perseverance finally paid off on 59 minutes when De Vere cut through the Bulls defence to score his first try for the club and he also added the goal.

Vainikolo, comparatively subdued after his early heroics, completed his hat-trick on 67 minutes and Fielden deservedly got on the scoresheet when he charged over seven minutes from the end.

The Giants added a second try through Gene but Bradford had the final say when the impressive Reardon crossed at the corner for his second try of the match.
