The Raging Crocker

Queensland selectors are hoping firebrand Roosters utility Michael Crocker (pictured) can maintain the rage against New South Wales in the upcoming State of Origin series.

With Brisbane's Gorden Tallis stepping down from representative duty this season, there is a gaping hole to fill with sheer aggression that Tallis had on tap. Known as the "Raging Bull" starting way back in his St. George days, Big Gordie has been one of the first picked for the Maroons over the past decade.

He has terrorised the Blues on countless occasions, scoring tries, putting on big hits and tearing defence apart. One of the most vivid examples of the rage and passion he encapsulated came in the 2002 series where he dragged NSW fullback Brett Hodgson over the sideline like a rag-doll from a good 15 metres in from touch.

However, Queensland chairman of selectors Gene Miles has put Crocker's name forward as the person most likely fill the big shoes Tallis has left behind.
