Tigers lose Whatuira with hamstring
injury

Wests Tigers run of injuries continued today with centre Paul Whatuira likely to miss the rest of the regular season with a hamstring complaint.

The Kiwi international suffered a re-occurrence of a hamstring injury at training today as the team prepared for Sunday's clash with Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium. It would have been his first game back from the hamstring injury suffered against the Cowboys in round 13.

Wests Tigers released a statement saying Whatuira could be back in time for the finals and the Tri-Nations Series. Whatuira joins grand final-winning team-mates Brett Hodgson, Benji Marshall, Liam Fulton and Bryce Gibbs on the injury list.

Ben Jeffrey and Chris Lawrence will make their first-grade debuts this week and former Storm player Tevita Metuisela will make his debut for the Tigers.
