Titans ridicule Roosters
The Gold Coast Titans have continued their charge towards the top eight with a convincing 36-16 win over the Sydney Roosters in front of 8134 fans at Allianz Stadium.
Scott Prince was in the fine form as he guided his side to their third straight win, which sees them on equal competition-points with the eighth-placed Tigers.
While the Titans came away with a 20-point victory it was the home side who were on fire in the opening minutes on the back of some good metres from their forward pack and a lopsided penalty count.
A penalty in the 11th minute saw the Roosters right on the attack and it was Tinirau Arona who found a gap a few metres out to open up the scoring. Braith Anasta added the extras.
The Roosters began gifting, the Titans field position on the back of penalties and the visitors took advantage through Beau Falloon in the 56th minute.
A penalty and a tackle count restart right on the try line helped the Roosters claw their way back into the game through Mitchell Aubusson in the 61st minute. Anasta added the extras to make it a six-point ball game.
However, the home side began to self-destruct from there, conceding back-to-back penalties allowing Scott Prince to extend the lead with a penalty goal in the 68th minute before the Titans ran in two late tries to seal the victory.
Tonight's victory sees the Titans right on the edge of the top eight, they will take on the third-placed South Sydney Rabbitohs next weekend.
As for the Roosters, they will host the St George Illawarra Dragons next weekend, who are still in the running for a place in top eight.

LeagueUnlimited.com Live Commentary Good evening NRL fans and welcome to Allianz Stadium where the Sydney Roosters host the Gold Coast Titans.
We have crisp conditions at the SFS this evening where both John Cartwright and Brian Smith have announced that they will go into the match with the same squad named on Tuesday afternoon.
The home side will be looking for their first win since round 15, their recent poor form sees them sitting in 14th on the ladder, they will be hoping the inclusion of talented young fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck might give them a much needed boost.
As for the Titans, they will be keen to record their third straight win, their recent good form sees them only two-competition-points out of the top eight and with only six rounds remaining in the regular season each win is extremely valuable.
