Tonga and Asotasi update

Bulldogs centre Willie Tonga has undergone season-ending surgery while Roy Asotasi will play again only if the club makes the NRL grand final.

Tonga won't play again in 2006 after rupturing the medial ligament in his left knee in the Bulldogs 30-0 loss to Brisbane last Friday night.

The news was only slightly better for Asotasi with scans revealing an incomplete tear of the medial ligament. Bulldogs doctor Hugh Hazard says Asotasi will have his knee in a brace for four to five weeks with a grand final berth his only hope of another game this year.
