Tony Drury appointed Assistant Coach on the England Youth Camp

Wildcats Head of Youth Development on England Youth Camp

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Youth Development Officer Tony Drury was appointed Assistant Coach on the England Youth Camp this week.

Tony, who was working alongside Head Coach Dave Elliot, spent 8 days with 50 talented youngsters at St Mary's College in Sheffield.

The week consisted of 3 matches and a range of training and team work. Two test matches were played on Good Friday, one that Drury Head Coached against Wales and one that Elliot Head Coached against France. The England side were victorious against Wales with a 24-18 win but lost out to France with a final score of 19-18 to the visiting team.

The large 50 man squad was then cut down to just 2o that were to face France again in a second test on Tuesday 26th April. The game was played at Odsal Stadium and England this time claimed a victory and completed the series with a fantastic 54-18 result.
