St George Illawarra five-eighth Trent Barrett is a certain starter against South Sydney this weekend following a near perfect training run yesterday.
Barrett was knocked out and suffered a neck injury in the Test match against Great Britain eight days ago. The Dragons captain was forced from the field and taken to hospital after complaining of pins and needles in his arms and legs. Trainers and the on-field doctor opted not to use the medicab, preferring to slowly carry Barrett off on a stretcher as a precaution.
Barrett underwent scans in hospital this week and was given the all-clear to play against the Rabbitohs at Aussie Stadium (SFS) on Saturday afternoon.
"It's still a bit sore but there's nothing to worry about," Barrett said.
"I was a bit worried, but I'm alright."
The game is a must win for Saints who are three points clear of the top eight while Souths, in their first year back in the big league have nothing to lose.
The Rabbitohs host the Dragons at Aussie Stadium (SFS) on Saturday 20 July, kickoff at 3:00PM.
Live updates of this clash between these two traditional rivals as well as all the weekend's matches will be posted on League Unlimited Online.
