Manly Sea Eagles halfback Matt Orford and St George Illawarra Dragons five eighth Jamie Soward have jointly won the 2008 LeagueUnlimited.com Player of the Year Award.

Orford wins the award for a record third time after joining Soward at the top of the leader board on 23 points in round 25 of the NRL competition.

Not far away were Sharks halfback Brett Kimmorley, Raiders five eighth Terry Campese and Storm fullback Billy Slater.

Orford first won the award in its inaugural year in 2003 when he was playing for the Storm, and again in 2004. Soward has been in great form for the Dragons this year and held a handy lead up until a few weeks ago before injuries intervened.
