Prior to the Christmas break the Bears Harold Matthews and SG Ball squads played a heroic 3 games in as many weeks, in order to finalise teams for 2008. Both squads trained 3 nights per week leading up to the games, working on skills and conditioning. The tough part now is for the coaches to reduce the 45-50 players down to 20-23, with some tough decisions looming. The commitment and effort of these young players to make the grade has been outstanding. They travel from far and wide to attend training, converging from all areas to Bicentennial Reserve, Willoughby, some on the bus, some on the train and some on foot. The Club is proud that these young men believe in our systems and are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to be a part of it. Premier League were also full swing into training prior to the break, with a squad of around 20 players sweating it out 5 times per week. The Club is mindful of South Sydney's player roster, and players who so far are contracted to the Bears for 2008 are: Like
