Warriors snap

Todd Byrne, formerly of the Sydney Roosters, has put pen to paper with the New Zealand, making him their fourth major signing for the year. He will join veterans Steve Price (Bulldogs) and Ruben Wiki (Raiders) plus exciting youngster Nathan Fien, from the Cowboys, at Auckland next year.

In what seems to be a genuine effort to re-ignite the failing outfit, the Warriors have also added Ivan Cleary and Kevin Campion to their coaching staff to assist head coach Tony Kemp.

Byrne is probably most famous for being tackled by Scott Sattler in last season's Grand Final, but he was a member of the club's premiership-winning Premier League side at the weekend. He says the Warriors have given him the chance to re-establish his first grade career.
