Warriors will defend Maloney charge

Auckland, New Zealand, March 23, 2010 - The Vodafone Warriors have today notified the NRL they will contest a grade one dangerous throw charge laid against halfback James Maloney after last Saturday night's second-round clash against Cronulla.

The club said an early guilty plea had been entered by Lewis Brown on a grade one dangerous throw charge from the same tackle on Cronulla's Anthony Tupou. Brown will now miss this Sunday's match against Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium.

As the Maloney case will be the subject of a judicial hearing tomorrow night, there will be no further comment from the club at this stage.
