Webcke Vows To Continue

Australian prop Shane Webcke has no plans to follow his Brisbane Bronco's captain Gorden Tallis into representative retirement.

Webcke is one of the oldest Kangaroos at 29 , but shows no signs of slowing down. "I'm still pretty keen," he said.

"I have no real dramas, particularly winning this series and under this sort of pressure. It makes you realise how special it is to be in this side, winning things like this particularly under these circumstances.

"It was wonderful."

Webcke was at his powerhouse best as the Australians successfully defended the Ashes series with a 23-20 win at Hull's KC Stadium , and taking an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the 3 match test series.

Webcke took on the Great Britain pack, and Lions enforcer Adrian Morley, head-on and came out a clear victory.

Morley tried to put the big hits on the hard-charging Kangaroos prop ? but each time he bounced off as Webcke sent the British flying.

"I think it's testament to the older players in the team as well," said Webcke.

"We have assimilated very well. There's been a lot of tension in the build-up to these Tests. I knew if we didn't win tonight it would have been very difficult in that third Test.

"It was just one of those games where it took every man to stand up to the end."
