Wigan Warriors can confirm that the scheduled home engage Super League fixture with Huddersfield Giants on Friday 6th June 2008 has now been postponed due to work on the JJB Stadium pitch. A new date and kick off time for this fixture will be announced in due course.
The Club have now received final confirmation that extensive pitch renovations will start immediately after the home game with the Warrington Wolves on May 16th and are scheduled to take up to six weeks to complete in readiness for the Warriors next scheduled home fixture against Harlequins on Friday 27th June. The work is essential and when completed will provide a superb playing surface which will benefit both Wigan Warriors and Wigan Athletic.
Should the Warriors progress to the Quarter Final stage of the Carnegie Challenge Cup and be drawn at home, further consideration will have to be given for an alternative venue to fulfil this fixture.
