Wigan thrash Hull KR

Wigan Warriors moved up to second as they stormed to victory at DW Stadium over Hull KR.

After seeing both of their rivals complete convincing wins this weekend, Wigan new that they needed to win to keep the pressure on.

The Warriors made a great start and moved into a 12-0 lead after ten minutes thanks to a try piece from Sam Tomkins and Pat Richards.

Kris Welham pulled one back for Rovers, but just before the break on the nod of the video referee Pat Richards scored his second of the game as the hosts led 16-6.

Shortly, after the restart Wigan made sure of the win as Sam Tomkins was on hand to complete his hat-trick. Brother Joel set up his second of the game and then after more good work Sam Tomkins footwork was no match for the visitors defence.

The game was now one way traffic and George Carmont took Dobson's kick and raced away to set up Pat Richards who also scored a hat-trick and just before near the end of the match Carmont finished off a flowing Wigan moved to complete a comprehensive win as the Warriors moved above Huddersfield on points difference into second with a game in hand.
