Wigan V Widnes - Preview

Wigan take on Widnes at the Halton Stadium hoping to avoid a third successive defeat and Vikings coach Frank Endacott knows the pressure will be on current Warriors boss Denis Betts.

Endacott was sacked by Wigan four years ago, despite never having lost two games in a row, and he said: ?I know about the pressure at Wigan. I was always told that Wigan coaches don?t lose two in a row which I never did.

?You jump out of bed when it?s Wigan and we?re really looking forward to this match. My short time at Wigan was fantastic and I know every former Wigan player thinks the same. Now the boot is on the other foot.?

Terry O?Connor, Mick Cassidy, Gary Connolly, Mark Smith and Jon Whittle will all face their old Wigan team-mates for the first time since their close-season switch to Widnes.

Although they have won just one of their opening three matches, Betts believes his side are in good shape.

?We?re only three games in,? he said. ?We lost a game by two points when we probably should have been in front and lost a game we should never have lost by one point so it?s not all doom and gloom.
