Highly respected and reputable Rugby League historian and former curator of the Rugby League Museum at the NRL Headquarters, Terry Williams, passed away yesterday at the age of 62.
Son of third grade Newtown jets player Warren Williams, Terry was a fan of the Bluebags as a kid and maintained that passion for the club up to his final moments. He wrote two books about his beloved club; "Out of the Blue" and "Through Blue Eyes".
He was the long-time curator at the NRL Museum, bringing the games history to life in ways it never had before. He was deeply passionate about the men who played the game that served on the battlefront - which is most notably recognized in his video documentary "From Headgear to Helmets."
As a fellow Historian, Terry was always keen to share stories and his knowledge on the game and any information that I required to improve the Rugby League Project website and asked for nothing in return.
His passion for the game's history was unrivalled, unmatched and unwavering - and it can be heard so clearly on his wonderful podcast Rugby League Rookwood.
Terry was a generous, kind, brilliant man. His legacy will never be forgotten, especially by those who shared his passion for the games history.
Vale Terry Williams
