Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles v Parramatta Eels

The Manly Sea Eagles have made amends for a golden point loss in a 54-0 demolition over the Parramatta Eels in hot conditions at Lottoland in front of 10,000 fans.

Hot was the word of the day at Brookvale with temperatures approaching 40 degrees at the beginning of the game but as things turned out the weather wasn't the only thing that was hot in the opening 40 with Manly running riot in the opening half.

The Eels had the first use of the ball but that was the last they saw of it for almost 12 minutes with Manly running all over the Eels to begin with. The home side opened the scoring in just the fourth minute when Daly Cherry-Evans took the line on and got the opening four pointer.

The second try was again all too easy for the Eagles with Api Koroisau taking off from dummy half after DCE nailed a 40/20 that got the Eagles into  perfect position to score their second. The Eels finally got a touch on the ball but lost it tackle one which set up Manly for another attacking raid and they got the third try through Addin Fonua-Blake who cut through some lethargic defence.

The Eels then got themselves over the line twice only to have it knocked back by the bunker for knock ons. Manly added two more tries with Curtis Sironen and Lachlan Croker getting over the line through some poor defence from the Eels.

Parramatta started the second half much better dominating the field position inside the opening 10 minutes however it was Manly who scored after 13 minutes when Jake Trbojevic got on the board being on the back of a Lloyd Perrett offload. Curtis Sironen brought a double after 56 minutes after chasing through a
Hastings grubber.

Things went from worse to even worse for the Eels when Mitch Moses was sent to the sin bin after giving a spray to referee Matt Cecchin. Manly then struck againthrough Lloyd Perrett who got the Eagles on the verge of 50. DCE then knocked over a cheeky penalty goal to hit the 50-0 mark before on the stroke of full time Jorge Taufua finished things off and got the Eagles to a 54-0 victory.

Next weekend the Eagles will take on the winless Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium, whilst Parramatta could potentially go 0 & 3 with a clash against the winless Cronulla.
