Finished the round on top of the table after a determined victory over rivals South Sydney and now have three games to hold on to the J J Giltinan shield.

2. 

Last week: 1st
Result: lost to Roosters 14-18
This week: v Broncos @ Suncorp

Didn't disgrace themselves against a gritty Roosters side. Can nearly guarantee a top two berth with a win over Brisbane on Thursday.

3. 

Last week: 2nd
Result: lost to Sharks 14-17 @ AAMI
This week: v Eels @ AAMI

Teams are starting to figure out their structure and style and it's concerning. Have Melbourne peaked too early?

4. 

Last week: 7th
Result: def. Storm 17-14 @ AAMI
This week: v Cowboys @ SCGS

Bounced back admirably from their loss to Manly, with a well-drilled win over Melbourne. A real chance to grab a top four spot if they can win their final three.

5. 

Last week: 6th
Result: def. Knights 20-4 @ Mt Smart
This week: v Bulldogs @ ANZ

Seem to have steadied heading into the back end of the season. A win over the Bulldogs will be especially handy this Sunday, with both of their last two games then at home. Dark horse?

6. 

Last week: 5th
Result: def. Titans 17-16 @ Cbus Super
This week: v Knights @ Panthers

A huge week for the licorice allsorts and they finished it in bizarre style, getting one over the Titans in golden point. Another 'should-win' game coming up with them hosting Newcastle on Saturday.

Last week: 4th
Result: lost to Eels 4-40 @ ANZ
This week: v Wests Tigers @ Leichhardt

Slipping away dramatically now, a horrid loss and disgraceful attitude against the Eels on Saturday night. Need an immediate response against the Tigers on Saturday.

8. 

Last week: 9th
Result: def. Raiders 22-20 @ GIO
This week: v Dragons @ Leichhardt

Now look a real chance to fly home into the top eight with the Broncos and Dragons stumbling to the finish line.

Last week: 8th
Result: lost to Cowboys 30-34 @ 1300SMILES
This week: v Rabbitohs @ Suncorp

Backed up an awful performance against Canterbury last round with an equally disappointing showing against Queensland rivals the Cowboys.

10. 

Last week: 10th
Result: lost to Wests Tigers 20-22 @ GIO
This week: v Roosters @ GIO

Another week, another loss by a small margin. Are a good enough team, just don't seem to be able to play for 80 minutes.

11. 

Last week: 11th
Result: lost to Warriors 4-20 @ Mt Smart
This week: v Panthers @ Panthers

Lost their lustre on the road and while a better season than the last three, the Knights will be disappointed with the back half of this year.

Result: def. Bulldogs 18-6 @ Lottoland
This week: v Titans @ Lottoland

Two on the trot for the Eagles after a real poor period post-Origin. Broke Cronulla's hearts last week and put the 'Dogs away comfortably on Saturday. Third straight win a big chance on Friday night against Gold Coast.

13. 

Last week: 14th
Result: def. Dragons 40-4 @ ANZ
This week: v Storm @ AAMI

Huge win over the Dragons and they appear to be turning a corner, the only problem being that a hungry Melbourne side keen to return to form is waiting around that corner.

14. 

Last week: 12th
Result: lost to Sea Eagles 6-18 @ Lottoland
This week: v Warriors @ ANZ

After a couple of impressive performances, the Bulldogs failed to fire against the Sea Eagles. The return of Lachlan Lewis this week should see them challenge the Warriors.

15. 

Last week: 13th
Result: lost to Panthers 16-17 @ Cbus Super
This week: v Sea Eagles @ Lottoland

Capitulated late against an embattled Panthers side who loves to leave it late. A better chance when they face Manly on Friday.

16. 

Last week: 16th
Result: def. Broncos 34-30 @ 1300SMILES
This week: v Sharks @ SCGS

Impressive to get over the Broncos after a poor season but somehow managed to drop to last place. Not the way JT would've wanted to go out.
