Well, it appears absolutely nothing can knock the Catalans Dragons down in 2022. Down on troops in both the forwards and the backs, Steve Macnamara's men have put on one of the most inspired performances in their Super League history tonight downing Leeds 10-4.
But it was the Rhinos who got onto the scoreboard first, when Blake Austin continued his good start to the season, outmuscling the defence to score. After a long verdict from video referee Chris Kendall, the man upstairs gave the Aussie pivot the first try of the evening.
Minutes later, Catalans hit back when Fouad Yaha finished off a set play involving his sides entire spine who outran the cover and crossed for the equalising try. Drinkwater was unable to convert from wide out, leaving the scores level at 4-4. The rest of the first half can be described as a slugfest as both forwards did their best to smash each other and give their sides the edge to get over the top.
After the break, Catalans crossed for what would ultimately be the match-winning try. Off a good short ball from Sam Kasiano, Joe Chan found his way to the line to cross for the Dragons' second of the evening and with Drinkwater's conversion, Catalans had a 10-4 lead.
With the game in the balance, Leeds ultimately couldn't finish off many opportunities, including a stint where Catalans were down to 12 when Mitchell Pearce was shown a yellow card. Leeds couldn't break down the Catalans' defence and remain winless in 2022.

The Wigan Warriors have maintained their undefeated start to the new Super League season downing Huddersfield 22-12, in the first of a Thursday night doubleheader to kick off Round 3.
Wigan opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Thomas Leuluai broke the line and lined up with Liam Farrell to cross the line and Wigan led 6-0. Huddersfield hit back seven minutes later when Chris McQueen ran onto a flat pass and brought the game back to a level score-line.
Off the ensuing set in attack, Cade Cust provided a lovely ball to Farrell to cross for his second try and Wigan had a six-point advantage. Wigan hit the Giants with a double whammy before the break when Jack Bibby wrestled his way to the line and grounded the ball on the line to give Wigan a handy 16-6 half-time lead.
Huddersfield began the second 40 stronger and their efforts were rewarded when Tui Lolohea was on the receiving end of the great lead up work from Innes Senior and the Giants were within four points. John Bateman finished off a lovely set play which saw Leuluai link up with Sam Powell before finding the Wigan captain to cross for the game-defining try and seal a fairly unconvincing 10 point advantage.

Hull KR recorded their first win of the season as they got the better of a mistake-riddled Super League encounter with Castleford by a 26-10 score at Craven Park.
A sloppy opening 10 minutes saw both sides make several mistakes as neither could get a hold of the game. The game came alive when Castleford's Bureta Faraimo was shown a yellow card for colliding illegally with Will Dagger. Immediately, Hull KR shifted to the left and Shaun Kenny-Dowall crossed for the Rovers to give them an early lead. Castleford would be reduced to 11 when Liam Watts was also shown a yellow card for a late hit on Hull KR's Mikey Lewis.
Castleford would hit back against the script when Jordan Turner ran the perfect line to cross for the Tigers, it took James Child several replays to confirm Liam Moore's on-field decision of try and the Tigers had a shock 6-4 advantage.
Right on half-time, Castleford conceded a late try when Sam Wood crossed in the right corner and Hull KR held a slender 8-6 advantage. Wood claimed an all-important third try for the home side 12 minutes into the half as he burrowed his way over in the right corner after good work by Abdull who finally converted a Hull KR try to make it 14-6.
A double whammy all but put the game out of reach for the Tigers when Matt Parcell and Brad Takarangi crossed for tries within 5 minutes of each other to put the score out to an unassailable margin of 20 points. Castleford grabbed a late try courtesy of Faraimo but it was too late. Hull KR ran out of convincing 16 point winners.

St Helens continued their undefeated start with a scrappy and at times ill-disciplined performance winning 20-4 over Wakefield Trinity.
After a scrappy opening to the match, St Helens finally settled and got into the groove of the game and were rewarded when Mark Percival crossed for the first of his two tries in the fifteenth minute. Lewis Dodd thought he had a try minutes later, but it was taken off the board by the referee after the obstruction was spotted by his sideline official.
James Roby burrowed over out of dummy half just on the half-hour mark and the Saints had a 10-0 lead. St Helens would cross for another try in the final ten minutes before the break when Percival completed his double after being on the end of a lovely in-field grubber kick and Saints had a 16-0 advantage.
Wakefield had the final say going into half-time with a lovely cross-field kick from Brad Walker ending in the lap of Tom Johnstone who crossed to cut the margin to just 12 at half-time. St Helens sealed the game in the 64th minute when Josh Simm crossed in the corner to complete our final score of 20-4. Wakefield was far from disgraced but is still chasing their first win in the new season.

Hull has responded resoundingly after last week's poor home performance, thumping Salford 48-16 in the first of two Super League matches this afternoon.
It was set to be a high scoring afternoon which kicked off in the 13th minute when replacement halfback Brad McNamara put a grubber kick in which found Darnell Mcintosh to cross for the first try and lead 4-0. Minutes later, Hull scored again through a wonder ball from returning fullback Jake Connor who found Cameron Scott to cross and with Connor's conversion, Hull led 10-0.
Six minutes later, Scott crossed for try number two when he put a chip over the top of the Salford full-back and won the race to the ball to lead 14-0. Moments later, hooker Joe Lovodua crossed over from point-blank range and it was becoming ugly for the visitors as they trailed 20-0. Salford would get the last laugh at half-time when Tim Lafai caught a mid-field bomb to give the Red Devils confidence going into half-time.
However, the second 40 was a direct replication of the first. Connor crossed for a vital Hull try and from there the flood gates opened. Second rower Jordan Lane crossed for a brace of tries in quick succession to put the game out of reach for the visitors. Josh Reynolds crossed as well with just over fifteen minutes to play to lead 42-6.
Salford grabbed a consolation try through Ken Sio to reduce the gap to 32 points before bench forward Tevita Satae crashed over for the easiest try in his rugby league career. Salford's Tim Lafai completed his double in garbage time to make the score-line 48-16 and revive their season.

Warrington continue to pile misery on Toulouse Olympique's debut season, keeping them without a win defeating the newcomers 32-18.
It was a promising start for Warrington when Toby King grounded a George Williams chip kick and the Wolves had an early 4-0 lead. Toulouse kicked a penalty goal to half the margin in the opening quarter-hour.
Josh Charnley soon widened the margin finishing off a lovely set play and with Ratchford's conversion, Wolves led 10-2. King nabbed his double right before half-time as the centre reached out and grounded the ball to the satisfactory standards of the in-goal judge and the score was now 16-2 at half-time.
Things got worse for Toulouse after the break when George Williams raced the best part of 70 meters untouched to make the margin 22-2. Olympique had to be next to score, and they got some luck when debutant Olly Ashall-Bott provided a moment he would never forget when he broke the line and outpaced the fullback to reduce the margin to just 14 points.
Their hope and optimism was short-lived when two quick Wolves tries by Charnley (securing his double) and Jason Clark crossing to give the Wolves an unassailable lead of 32-8. Toulouse grabbed themselves two consolation tries to Romain Navarrete and Maxime Stefani to make the score-line respectable for Olympique going down 32-18.
