Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles v Brisbane Broncos

Manly have turned out a comprehensive performance on Saturday night to down Brisbane 34-6 in the Queensland side's first visit to Brookvale Oval in eleven years.

The Eagles had a few false starts with Clayton Faulalo denied twice in the first five minutes - once by the referee (forward pass) and once by the Bunker (grounding). But eventually the fill-in winger got the opening four-pointer of the night, pouncing on Jesse Arthars' missing a grubber through the line and grounding it thus.

Brisbane hit back at the 14th minute through five-eighth Ezra Mam and led 6-4 with Adam Reynolds' conversion.

Two tries between the 20th and 30th minutes surged Manly to a 16-6 lead, Faulalo's second from a superb cut-out pass to the right; then Nathan Brown chasing through a short-range kick to score under the sticks.

The hosts' authority on the contest was stamped most emphatically when Haumole Olakau'atu was on the end of a great piece of play with Tolu Koula providing him the last pass to give them a 22-6 lead at the break (Reuben Garrick converted 3/4 to the break).

The thirty minutes following halftime was uneventful for both sides, the scoreboard untroubled until Olakau'atu grabbed his second try of the day just after the 70th minute.

The hosts iced a commanding home performance with a 78th-minute try to centre Tolu Koula, and with Garrick's conversion sealed a 34-6 victory
