On the stroke of full time Matt Prior is penalised for a high tackle on Gareth Widdop.

The Sharks didn't throw much at the Dragons in that set and there is just 1 minute and 30 seconds left on the clock. A strip is ruled on Paul Vaughan and the Dragons may just seal the result now if they can hold onto the ball.

FINALLY - a complete set! Ben Hunt drills it out over the touchline 10 out and the Sharks set the scrum with just under 3 minutes to go.

And another error... Kurt Capewell makes a great run down the middle of the field after breaking away from Nene Macdonald but the winger has the last laugh after forcing the mistake from the Cronulla interchange player.

The Dragons march up field and Widdop takes on the tackle of Aaron Gray but the Dragons five-eighth comes out second best after being ruled to have come up with an error. A scrum is formed on the Cronulla 40 metre line.

Kurt Capewell soars above them to take the Chad Townsend bomb and he offloads for Matt Moylan but he can't take it! A try was begging!

And in one of the bizarre last tackle plays ever the Hunt kick has rebounded everywhere - the players stop waiting for the accidental offside call but no such call comes. Widdop kicks and Moylan SOMEHOW escapes after stealing the ball off his own player that was going to be forced in goal! Stunning scenes! Last tackle and Frizell is penalised! Sharks are 40 out with a full set!

Matt Prior has now been penalised for a dangerous tackle and Widdop will again go for the two points.

Josh Dugan's kick off has gone out on the full. Quite honestly, neither team deserves two points tonight.

Paul Gallen is now pinned for offside and Gareth Widdop will shoot to give the Dragons the lead.

Penalty now conceded by James Graham and Paul Gallen takes the tap. The Sharks are now over halfway but now Andrew Fifita has dropped it. The Sharks are squandering any chance they have with Jason Nightingale in the bin.

OFF THE SCRUM! Hunt turns it inside for Frizell who drops it..

Sosaia Feki is away after a Dragons error and he scoots over halfway before linking with Josh Dugan. Jason Nightingale holds the former Dragon down and concedes the penalty and is sent to the bin! Townsend will kick for goal.

A great set after points by the Dragons - Hunt clears it and finds space. The Red V defenders march up field and trap the Sharks within their own 20. Wade Graham struggles to gain metres after being swamped on by three Dragons defenders and offloads for Andrew Fifita but the Prop can't handle it. Dragons with a full set 40 out.

The Sharks spread left and Dugan had space but he has dropped it!

BUNKER - Dugan may have scored against his former team!

Hunt puts in an early grubber and Sims is on the charge for the ball but Gray shoulders him off... it should be a penalty... but they get a dropout nevertheless and a full set... or not. Lafai tries to take the dropout but he leaves it in the hope it might go out on the full... and it doesn't. It trickles out and the Sharks get the ball back and momentum is lost for the away side.

Hunt shifts it right and finds Euan Aitken who takes on the line but can't force his way through - he attempts to offload for Jason Nightingale but the winger can't handle it. However, upon replays, it appears the ball was lost by Feki rather than Nightingale. A tough call for the away side. But perhaps this is karma as now Aaron Gray has dropped the ball.

Penalty Dragons 10 out. Big set coming up for both sides in the context of this one.

Valentine Holmes has made a mistake and the Dragons are 20 out! Momentum is shifting!

BUNKER - I cannot even describe what just happened but Tyson Frizell may have scored one of the strangest tries ever!

Townsend grubbers on the last and hits the posts - it sits up for Prior but he can't regather it! Dragons survive!

EARLY TURNING POINT? Jayson Bukuya and Chad Townsend work together to rag doll Matthew Dufty back into his own in-goal area. Sharks with an early chance to extend their lead.

A very strong set from the Dragons sees Widdop kick 20 metres out from the Cronulla line on the last. It takes a nasty bounce and Tariq Sims almost takes it but couldn't hold onto the ball. Cronulla respond with a barnstorming set of their own with Aaron Gray fending off defenders before being tackled 10 out. Townsend kicks towards the post but Gareth Widdop takes it.

HALF TIME - The Sharks have be the dominant side yet a spectacular effort from Nene Macdonald has seen Shane Flanagan's men head into the break with just a 10-point lead. Stay tuned for the second forty.

After a couple of strong carries saw the Dragons march into Cronulla's half, an error from Leeson Ah Mau will see the first half come to a close.

The Sharks put on a left side raid but Valentine Holmes throws it straight to Euan Aitken...

After points some ill-discipline undoes all the good work the Dragons have done to get back in the game. Paul Vaughan rushes in and hits Josh Dugan high, leading to a penalty. Cronulla storm up towards halfway. Sosaia Feki takes it past the halfway line before Jayden Brailey sneaks towards the 30 metre line. Chad Townsend hits fellow half Matt Moylan who is crunched in a tackle. Jeremy Latimore, however, now concedes a penalty. Sharks tap 20 out. Wade Graham almost breaks through and is tackled 5 out before Ava Seumanufagai straightens things up. The last tackle play goes wrong but Josh Dugan fixes it up and forces a drop-out. A try here would crush the Dragons.

Moylan grubbers on the fourth but Jason Nightingale is there to take it and the Dragons survive - and they needed to! Now they earn a MASSIVE penalty for offside that may swing momentum. Dragons are 30 out after a strong run by Tyson Frizell. Leeson Ah Mau takes it up and offloads to Gareth Widdop who then finds Timoteo Lafai. Another penalty is ruled and they tap 20 out. Tyson Frizell again takes it up before Jeremy Latimore straightens things up. The Dragons now shift it right after Matthew Dufty danced towards the left - Widdop chips for Macdonald after space was created by a Latimore offload and the winger may have scored! Checking with the Bunker...

What a set after points! Dufty isn't so confident this time and lets the Moylan bomb bounce and puts Nightingale under immediate pressure! The veteran has to wait for the bounce and is crushed by Dugan, forcing a goal-line drop out.

The Sharks get 6 again 10 out after Euan Aitken dropped the Townsend bomb. Ava Seumanufagai takes a charge and is tackled just shy of the line. Jayden Brailey goes short to Andrew Fifita and the skilful prop looks to have charged over but a team effort sees Fifita somehow denied. Matthew Dufty did most of the work, blocking Fifita's arm from touching the ground. Great pressure from Cronulla now with Moylan's grubber forcing another goal-line dropout.

Dufty takes a towering Townsend bomb now before Lafai and Macdonald take the Dragons up to the 40 metre line. Nightingale attempts to give his side some go forward but instead he comes up with an error just after halfway.

Neither side is doing anything overly spectacular with the footy thus far but WHAT A TAKE by Dufty! The Townsend bomb was swirling and the young fullback somehow took it on the dive.

Fifita takes the first hit-up after points before Graham takes his side up to the 20 metre line. Prior makes a solid 10 metres before the try scorer Bukuya charges past the 40 metre line. Townsend kicks it on the last but Dufty takes it on the full.

Fifita takes the opening charge off the restart before Prior struggles to make any metres after being crunched in a tackle. Gallen gets things going before Townsend clears it with Dufty fumbling the kick backwards and quickly cleaning it up. The Dragons now earn a penalty for offside. They tap. Tariq Sims takes the Red V over halfway before McInnes takes a stroll to the 30 metre line. Hunt goes to Widdop on the last who grubbers for McDonald but it is too big.

Gallen takes a charge and goes agonisingly close to scoring before a penalty is conceded by the Dragons for interference with the play the ball. Townsend will shoot for 2.

Moylan goes for the clearing kick on the last and it is near perfect but just rolls dead seeing the Dragons claim a seven-tackle set. However, Cronulla will immediately regain possession after an error by Jason Nightingale in taking the ball up.

Nene Macdonald takes the hit-up for the Dragons on the first before Jason Nightingale charges towards the halfway line. Tyson Frizell forces his way up towards the 40 metre line before a shift sees Matthew Dufty tackled on the fourth 40 out. Widdop bombs on the last but Dugan is too good and takes it well.

The Dragons are struggling to get out of their own end and Cronulla field the clearing kick on the last before marching up to the 20 metre line on the last from a charging run by Matt Prior. Chad Townsend grubbers on the last but it is far too big.

Cronulla have an early chance to strike - they shift it left on the third but Leutele is easily wrapped up. Townsend bombs on the last yet Feki can't handle it and the Dragons will survive the early pressure.
