FULL TIME - Brisbane have done enough tonight, holding on for an uninspiring 18-10 win over a spirited Eels outfit. Full wrap to come. Thanks for joining us!
That will be the game. Not much happening for Parramatta and they drop it on the last tackle. Brisbane are already 30 out on the second and have a chance to put this to bed. Anthony Milford runs and takes them on on the last but is tackled five short of the line.
Bevan French flies over in the corner but the pass from Corey Norman is called forward! Great signs despite the ruling!
Penalty Eels after Anthony Milford ran behind one of his players, constituting an obstruction. Parramatta are just 10 out now. They simply must score here. Corey Norman dummies and runs and is taken five out. Matthew Lodge hits Peni Terepo high and Parramatta take the tap.
No problems for the Brisbane winger.
Penalty Broncos now after Parramatta were ruled to shoulder a Brisbane chaser off the ball. They will shoot for two.
Very strong set after points from the Eels with quick play-the-balls seeing them march up field. Mitchell Moses bombs from 40 out on the last and Moses himself takes it but is swarmed upon. Positive signs nonetheless from the currently last-placed side.
Parramatta nab a penalty 10 out - they will take the two to reduce the deficit to six.
Anthony Milford grubbers it dead on the last - he should have spread it through the hands, Brisbane had a big overlap on the right edge. Parramatta surge up the field with Brad Takairangi bringing it to the Brisbane 40 on the second and the centre is down receiving treatment from the contact in the tackle.
James Roberts hobbles off! Bad signs for Brisbane and NSW fans!
Marata Niukore with a brilliant run and he makes 20 metres before being taken 40 out from the Brisbane line. The last-tackle option, however, is awful and sees Manu Ma'u kick it backwards 15 metres before Mitchell Moses runs back and kicks it, finding the 30 metre mark.
Parramatta start their set from 40 out before a barnstorming run from Suaia Matagi takes them up to the 20 on the second. Michael Jennings now threatens to break through but the ball spills out! Deja-vu there for Jennings!
A much better set from Parramatta - they played with more confidence and the Broncos now work their way out from their own end. Kodi Nikorima clears it from his own 40 and Corey Norman takes it and runs it to the 30. Now they earn a penalty. Momentum is turning.
Moses sends it through.
Brisbane earn another chance to extend their lead after Parramatta cough up the ball bringing it back from their own line. The Broncos begin their set 30 out and I have grave concerns for the Blue and Gold - and they make me look dumb! Anthony Milford spreads it left and the home side had the overlap but George Jennings intercepts it and races away!
Both sides just trading sets at the moment. The pace of Anthony Milford and Kodi Nikorima, however, is looking quite dangerous in the middle of the park with the Parramatta big men struggling to wrap them up. Milford bursts through the middle and is taken 40 out on the third. A right side spread sees Nikorima grubber for James Roberts but it trickles into touch. Brisbane are marching up the field right now and the Eels aren't looking any chance of staging a miracle comeback at the moment.
A power set after points from Brisbane who are already 30 out on the last tackle. Anthony Milford bombs for the left corner but Corey Norman takes it. George Jennings works it towards the 20 before brother Michael Jennings struggles to the 30. Manu Ma'u shows great strength to surge towards halfway. Mitchell Moses kicks on the last from 40 out but Darius Boyd takes it comfortably under little pressure.
Isaako misses to the left!
That may be the game! Roberts flies over in the corner after Jaydn Su'a broke through the line and linked with the speedster!
Back underway. Mitchell Moses kicks early for a 40/20 but it doesn't have the right angle and Brisbane have it. Anthony Milford bombs on the last and finds George Jennings. Parramatta have to work it out from their own end. A strong, slicing run from Tepai Moeroa takes Parramatta to their own 40. The kick on the last is taken well by Jamayne Isaako who is tackled 10 out.
HALF TIME - Brisbane lead Parramatta 12-2 at the break. It has been quite an uninspiring game so far with the Broncos struggling to get going after a fast start. The Eels have looked much better with Corey Norman in the No. 1 jersey but need to capitalise on any chances they get in the second half.
Moses sends it through.
Andrew McCullough holds down Parramatta and conceded a penalty. Parramatta will opt for the two as the official warning is given to Brisbane after a string of penalties.
Tevita Pangai Junior drops the ball bringing it towards halfway and Parramatta have one final set to post points.
Neither team looking all too threatening in attack with a left-side raid by Parramatta being pulled up after a forward pass. Brisbane begin their set on their own 40 and drop it off the scrum! Clint Gutherson collects it and is taken out but Brisbane still earn the scrum fee as they are ruled to have only dropped it backwards.
Peni Terepo drops it bringing the ball back off the drop-out...
Anthony Milford puts in a strong fourth tackle kick but it goes dead quite comfortably and Parramatta earn a seven-tackle set. Brad Takairangi surges towards the 30 before Tepai Moeroa works it past halfway and draws a penalty. The Eels are just 30 out as they begin their set. Corey Norman puts in another deft grubber and again forces a dropout with Anthony Milford batting it dead.
Parramatta earn a penalty for offside now and begin their set on halfway. A very smart kick by Corey Norman traps Darius Boyd inside his own in-goal area and the Eels have a chance to hit back. David Gower brings it to the 10 metre mark on the second before Mitchell Moses goes short to Tepai Moeroa who is taken two short of the line. They spread it left and Brad Takairangi tries to put in an early kick but it doesn't work out and Brisbane have the ball back.
Tough call against the Eels there. Michael Jennings burst through the line and was over but loses the ball in the tackle of Jaydn Su'a. The argument is there that it was stripped out and grounded after by a Parramatta player but it is sent up No Try and the Bunker agrees. Broncos work it out from their own end through Jamayne Isaako and Sam Tagataese. Patrick Mago takes it up past the 40 on the third before Andrew McCullough clears it on the fourth for Corey Norman who takes it and falls over.
Parramatta may be over! Checking with the Bunker!
Michael Jennings is back on as an inside ball from Brisbane ends with Kodi Nikorima dropping the ball after a strong tackle by Tepai Moeroa. Eels with a full set starting on their own 40.
Parramatta earn a penalty and tap quickly. They are just 10 out on the second and now grab another penalty. Cameron King passes it to Suaia Matagi who simply drops it. Terrible error given that the Eels had a perfect chance to bounce back.
Parramatta are 10 out on the last after a strong set. Mitchell Moses grubbers for the in-goal area and forces a dropout.
Matthew Lodge looks to take the first hit-up and suddenly shoves it to Anthony Milford who is put under immediate pressure but handles it. Tevita Pangai Junior now suddenly breaks through the middle and the Broncos are just 30 out. They spread it out to Oates' wing and Kahu grubbers but the Eels do well to shepherd it dead. What can they do with the ball?
No problems from the sideline.
The Broncos find the overlap with Jennings off! Kodi Nikorima shifts it to Anthony Milford who quickly gives it to Darius Boyd. The fullback finds Jordan Kahu and he passes to Oates who slices over.
Sam Thaiday quickly offloads for Matthew Lodge who struggles to take it and quickly throws it on for Anthony Milford who is hit high. The Broncos take the quick tap and Michael Jennings is sin-binned for interfering with it!
A controlled set after points from Brisbane with a clearing kick trapping Parramatta 20 out from their own line. A nice kick from Corey Norman sees the Broncos also have to work it out from their own end but their earn a reprieve courtesy of a Parramatta penalty and begin their set on halfway.
It goes over!
Isaako plucks the bomb out of the air and crashes over!
Tepai Moeroa goes over after a nice short ball by Corey Norman but the Broncos do well to hold him up. Norman grubbers on the last but Brisbane cover it well and earn a penalty with Daniel Alvaro called offside. The Broncos begin their set on the 30.
Quite a settled start to this one from both sides. Milford bombs on the last from 40 out and Corey Norman is there to take it. Parramatta work it out from their own end and are on halfway on the last. Mitchell Moses sends it into the air and Jamayne Isaako takes it on his own 30. Brisbane now make solid metres and are just shy of halfway on the third. Tevita Pangai Junior brings it up to the Eels' 40. A spread right sees James Roberts taken well by Bevan French 30 out. The kick on the last by Milford is taken by Corey Norman. Brisbane have knocked down a Peni Teripo offload and the Eels grab a full set 40 out from the Brisbane line.
We are underway here at Suncorp Stadium! Broncos receive and Matthew Lodge brings the ball back past the 10 on the first tackle. Tevita Pangai Junior and Sam Thaiday make customary runs before Pangai Junior pushes more Parramatta defenders to the side as he makes his way to the 30. Anthony Milford kicks on the last and finds George Jennings who takes it up to the 20. Brad Takairangi runs it up and offloads for Bevan French who skips past the 40. Peni Terepo barges his way over halfway and to the Broncos' 40. Daniel Alvaro brings it up to the 30. Mitchell Moses bombs on the last and Jordan Kahu collects it.
