Corey Norman has kicked his second match winning field goal in as many weeks to give the Dragons a 13-12 win late in Golden Point against a valiant Knights side at McDonald Jones Stadium.
In the 7th minute the Dragons got the scoring started when Lafai nailed a penalty goal.
Three minutes later the Knights struck back when they shifted left to Ponga who fired a hard flat pass that cut out two players and found Lee unmarked and the big winger scored untouched out wide. Ponga then nailed the sideline conversion.
Tyson Frizell then got the Dragons back in the lead after a brilliant solo effort. Pearce fielded a kick in front of his own posts, but then Frizell made a one-on-one strip and fell over the line for a try under the black dot. Lafai slotted the easy conversion.
Just before the half hour mark, Ponga got the Knights across the line for a second time. Again on the left side, he took the line on, engaged the defence and then passed to Hunt who strolled over through a yawning gap. Ponga's conversion from out wide narrowly missed.
15 minutes into the second half and it was the Dragon's custodians turn to lay on a try. Dufty sent a good cut out pass to Ravilawa who was in open space and he scored in the right corner. Lafai failed to convert from out wide.
In the 64th minute, Ponga kicked a penalty goal to level the scores.
Both sides traded bad last tackle options and then missed field goals. Pearce missed two shots at field goal either side of a missed field goal by Norman, to send the game into golden point.
Ben Hunt had the first chance to win the game but his attempt was wide. Right on half time in Golden Point, Norman had a long range shot but also missed.
A woeful last tackle play by the Knights turned the ball over to the Dragons in good position, they got into the Dragons half where Corey Norman nailed the match winning field goal.
