FULL TIME - The Knights crash out of finals contention with a big loss. Benji Marshall and Luke Brooks just brilliant.

Newcastle almost go over again as they catch Wests out on the right edge. Mason Lino darts out of dummy-half and finds Shaun Kenny-Dowall in space. He links inside with Mitchell Barnett but the Tigers scramble to force an error.

Newcastle with issues in the hooker department. Connor Watson, already out with a leg injury, may be joined by Danny Levi who is off with a rib complaint.

David Nofoaluma almost breaks straight through and is away but Tim Glasby comes up with the big tackle to stop him. The Knights now get a penalty after getting the ball back. They can still score.

Mitchell Barnett offloads late for Shaun Kenny-Dowall who almost goes over near the corner but is taken well by the Tigers. Mitchell Pearce with the grubber but the chase isn't great and Corey Thompson does brilliantly to shadow it dead.

Newcastle with a penalty, starting the new set on halfway as they still hunt their first points of the game.

Luke Brooks clears it for Kalyn Ponga who fumbles it, backwards though, before being tackled 20 out.

Mason Lino with a well-positioned kick but Paul Momirovski gets above to take it, Wests handling things beautifully.

The game has hit a bit of a lull now with both sides trading sets as Bradman Best has it for the Knights after fielding the last-tackle kick.

Newcastle looking a bit more threatening as Sione Mata'utia steps around and finds space but then throws the pass inside and the Tigers have it back.

Luke Brooks with another great bomb to finish the set but Shaun Kenny-Dowall is under it. Knights with it as Sione Mata'utia makes a nice charge up to the 30. Herman Ese'ese then picks up 10 metres. They're looking much better in this set. Mason Lino to the air and Corey Thompson is under it.

Back underway with a lot of work to do for the Knights.

HALF TIME - The Tigers far too good at the break, leading 30-0. Newcastle's for-and-against taking a massive hammering.

David Nofoaluma steams through the middle after some nice play from Josh Reynolds, who is now on, and the Tigers are 30 out. Matt Eisenhuth charges forward, Wests 10 out. Esan Marsters with a nice kick, Kalyn Ponga close to trapped in-goal but he steps his way out. Marsters needed to get him down there.

David Nofoaluma great metres and brings it over halfway. Wests shift it left now as Luke Brooks goes short to Luke Garner. Tigers 30 out. Brooks to the air and Esan Marsters looks to have taken Kalyn Ponga out.

Mitchell Pearce does likewise, sending it into the air to test out Corey Thompson but he stands up to the task.

The Tigers with a relieving penalty now inside their own half. Newcastle looking a bit frazzled early while the Tigers are playing a more simple power game up the middle that is working well.

Newcastle attack the right edge again as Mason Lino shows and goes, almost going through before being tackled. 30 out. Mitchell Pearce puts it to the air and Esan Marsters takes it under pressure.

Benji Marshall clears it from inside the 40 but Newcastle read it well and start the set up near the halfway mark.

Sione Mata'utia gets on the outside of Esan Marsters for a split second and is heading towards the line, ten out, he flicks an offload and it's dropped. Not enough patience there.

Wests really aiming up through the middle early as Luke Brooks completes the set by sending a spiralling bomb to Shaun Kenny-Dowall who takes it well. Knights working it out of their end and they get a fourth-tackle penalty.

Luke Garner with a massive run, spinning out of tackles before being taken on the 40. Thomas Mikaele follows suit with a strong carry then Garner does it again. Tigers 20 out with a spring in their step. They're claiming a try!

Knights 30 out to start this set. Mitchell Pearce - he spots space on the left wing where Bradman Best is - the speedy youngster gets there first but a tough bounce and he drops it.

Newcastle with plenty of numbers in tackles early, driving the Tigers back with Benji Marshall to kick from inside the 30. Bradman Best has it and earns a penalty.
