Thanks for tuning in. Head over to the Roosters v Rabbitohs match centre as play is about to get underway.
Correction a 30-point win for the Cowboys.
A straight and true kick from the right touchline ends play tonight. A 28-point win for the Cowboys.
There's points on both sides for the Cowboys, and it's from a glorious touch on pass from Valentine Holmes to set Feldt on his way to an easy try. Glorious play.
For the Titans Jamal Fogarty reached out and got the ball to the tryline, but the play is reviewed by The Bunker which has ruled Boyd ran an obstruction.
The second sin bin for the night for the Cowboys, this time it's Coen Hess. Moeaki Fotuaika made an explosive line break through the middle and Sam Lisone in support gains some more metres and is held down too long by Hess within 10 metres of the Cowboys line.
As I wrap Clifford he's just put a cross-field kick in about 5m short of the tryline and closer to the sideline. Feldt's collected it and pushed into touch.
Jake Clifford and Scott Drinkwater have combined nicely tonight. Clifford's guided the team and helped build the pressure. Drinkwater's been the playmaker. Clifford's forced another goal-line dropout with a close range kick.
Friendly fire for Arrow, Proctor drills him while making a tackle and Arrow is leaving the field for a HIA. His night is over.
Play is stopped for Jai Arrow as he's in pain and needs the trainer. Possibly a neck issue.
Moeaki Fotuaika gets an offload away to Lisone, but Lisone only gets one hand on it and it's dropped forward.
The Cowboys are favouring the left for their attack tonight and once again Drinkwater tried to find Hampton but the ball goes straight into touch.
PENALTY. Dale Copley's raked the ball in a multiplayer tackle, challenge unsuccessful.
Captain's Challenge - Titans. An illegal strip has been ruled on the Titans and they're trying to get it overturned.
Marsters shuts down an attacking Titans kick 10m out from his line.
PENALTY. Pearson goes high to defuse the bomb and contact is made with him in the air.
The toughest kick of the night for Holmes, this time from the left touchline it strays to the right.
That's the try of thenight. After Taumalolo goes inches from scoring. Geat hands from Robson, Drinkwater and Holmes sets Hampton over for his second try of the night and fourth of the season.
PENALTY. Clifford tries a grubber behind the line on tackle four. A scramble for the footy, Hipgrave takes out Clifford. Not a professional foul.
A right ankle for Sami but he's playing on. Pearson looks groggy but will continue for now it seems. Goal-line dropout to come from the Titans.
Holmes tries to beat Taylor one-on-one but it's a solid one-on-one tackle. Pearson and Sami collide trying to defuse a last tackle chip and both look in a bad state.
Robson on tackle three almost breaks the line again. On the following play Coen Hess makes the charge and he's held up in goal, spilled and forced down by the Titans for a goal-line dropout.
PENALTY. Tyrone Peachy's guilty of a high tackle and at halfway this will boost the Cowboys right back to the Gold Coast line.
Holmes gets another easy kick from in-front to convert Robson's double.
That's the benefit of he six again penalty in full effect. Robson looked right from dummy-half, changed his mind and a dash to his left from within 10 metres out allows him to dive over almost untouched.
SIX AGAIN PENALTY. Holmes makes a half break and it brings about the penalty. McLean makes a big dent in the line. Trouble for Gold Coast.
Close enough to the posts, too easy.
Just a couple of plays after the set restart and it's Reece Robson who has scored his first NRL try, darting from dummy-half from a few metres out to barge over Proctor and Sami.
On tackle three Taumalolo's made a line break straight down the field and is stopped by Sami around the legs. SIX AGAIN PENALTY. The Titans were offside on the following play and the pressure is really strong now.
A high and deep kick was needed for the Cowboys and Sami had to go to ground to securely take the ball. The Titans are back to being stuck in their half.
Jason Taumalolo's back on the field to finish out the match.
INTERCEPT. Jonus Pearson is not backing down from closing Drinkwater's passing lanes, this time he's collected the pass and the Cowboys get to him to avoid a runaway try.
PENALTY. Clearly upset at his mistake, Peats was too aggressive with this tackle and collects a player high.
A forward pass from Nathan Peats brings undone all the good work from the past few minutes.
PENALTY. Gold Coast now has a roll on.
With his team on the tryline Nathan Peats has intercepted a Reece Robson pass from dummy-half to turn the momentum.
On the first tackle from the scrum Drinkwater's attempted a long pass out to Hampton but once again Pearson's knocked it away to avoid the danger.
Clifford attempts a quick grubber kick on the last close to the tryline and play-the-ball, Taylor gets a foot to it and it's over the sideline. Another set coming for North Queensland.
They'd made progress past the halfway line and Ash Taylor's thrown a hospital pass to Keegan Hipgrave who knocks it on as soon as contact is made with the defence.
The Cowboys marched up the field and Marsters didn't get the line right for Drinkwaters low cross-field kick and it's a knock-on.
North Queensland turned up the defence and limited Gold Coast to a 30m set with a shaky kick away.
An identical set in return for the Cowboys, with their kick of choice a high one for Phillip Sami without much pressure for the fullback.
49m on the first set and Fogarty's last tackle kick is taken by a flying Val Holmes centre-field.
We're back for the second half and it's Shannon Boyd with the first hit-up.
Coen Hess breaks the line but is quickly taken down. Then the last play before the siren is shifted down the right touchline but Gold Coast rallies to force the ball into touch.
PENALTY. The Cowboys will get one last crack at a try before half-time.
Why, why does Gold Coast give Shannon Boyd the ball on the last tackle? He gets a pass away and a kick is in but this is tough to watch.
Asiata lost the ball while tackled on the ground. Shannon Boyd checks in for the Titans for his first NRL game in a long time. This speed of play might be too fast for the big bopper to last long.
Mitch Dunn is back on the field for North Queensland.
Clifford puts in another pinpoint kick, this time it's cross-field on the last and he gets clobbered by the defence. The kick is too much for the Titans and it's battered dead. Goal-line dropout coming up.
SIX AGAIN PENALTY. Mid-way through the first set after points and the Cowboys get a fresh set.
From 11 metres out and right in front the Cowboys extend their lead to eight points while Mitch Dunn still has time to serve in the sin bin.
PENALTY. Ash Taylor loses his focus on the goal-line dropout and this attempt at a drop-kick goes out on the full over the right sideline.
Jake Clifford puts in a chip kick over the defensive line and it lands perfectly to force a goal-line dropout.
NO TRY. Feldt showed incredible patience to leave this slow rolling ball go dead. It was a very fine margin from this play being a Gold Coast try.
Taylor combines with Hipgrave twice in the set to cause some problems for the Cowboys. Now we're off to The Bunker as a chase on a ball in goal from two Titans chasers may have got them a try.
PENALTY. The Titans will get out of their own half thanks to this penalty.
Robson's on for Granville. Holmes tries a difficult pass over the Gold Coast defence for Hampton, it's ruled forward. If he gets that pass right it's another four pointer.
PENALTY. A careless high tackle from Peachy and it'll take the Cowboys right up to the Titans line.
A bad end to the set for the Titans and quickly we're going the other way.
Copley's run put too much pressure on the Cowboys to deal with and Mitch Dunn committed a professional foul for holding too long in the Copley tackle.
There's some really tired legs out there now. The Titans shift left early in the set and Copley's made a smart 60m run.
Attacking kicking has been a real let down for Gold Coast so far. Another one to end the set at close range is comfortably returned by Holmes.
A decent set after points for the Cowboys but a strong kick return from Pearson should set Gold Coast up for a strong set.
Holmes is a confident kicker tonight.
Kyle Feldt set it up and Scott Drinkwater finishes it off a few tackles later. Quick service from Granville at dummy-half to Drinkwater allows the five-eighth to isolate the defence and put O'Neill into a gap metres from the line.
Ash Taylor uses last tackle to grubber near Feldt, but a couple of bodies go down on the chase, Feldt picks it up and goes 60 metres before being taken down. Danger signs for the Titans.
Captain's Challenge - Originally ruled an illegal strip on Holmes from the Titans, the review overturns the call and gives Gold Coast possession 40m out from the Cowboys' tryline.
Clearly a tactic here for the Titans on the last to kick high towards Brian Kelly/Kyle Feldt. They've tried it again and it's easily taken by Feldt. A disappointing finish to the set, that was a good chance to build pressure.
A long kick out of their own half for the Cowboys and it is a really chance for Gold Coast to win some field position.
Kyle Feldt gets the better of Kelly on the last this time while contesting the cross-field kick. The North Queensland forwards are blowing from that fast run of play.
SIX AGAIN. The Titans now get a roll on with the benefit of the penalty rule change.
Holmes chases a kick to the in-goal on the last and is half a metre away from scoring under the posts. Kelly returns the ball into play for Gold Coast.
That's a knock-on from one of Gold Coast's best, that'll shift momentum back to North Queensland.
Taylor converts from an almost identical spot to Holmes' earlier conversion.
The Titans got to the last and shifted left, it looked like it came to an end with Brian Kelly seemingly trapped by three Cowboys, but a spin toward the sideline beats Feldt and gets him over for a four pointer.
64m gained on the set and an attacking grubber from Taylor is stopped by the defence. Ruled played at by the Cowboys and regathered by the Titans, here's a repeat set for Gold Coast.
A solid platform from the Cowboys forwards to get the game going again. The Titans start deep in their half for their second set of the match.
As easy as a kick from three quarters in from the left sideline can get.
The weight of possession became too much by tackle four as a shift left to Holmes allowed the fullback to throw out the back to Hampton where there was a two-man overlap for the winger to stroll through.
Seven minutes in and Gold Coast is yet to get use of the footy. Another full set successfully defended but a goal-line dropout's been forced.
It was good defence for another full Cowboys set, but on the last when diffusing the kick Fogarty's knocked it into another Titan and play is stopped to give the Cowboys another set.
On the last the Cowboys shift left and the pass out for Feldt is stopped by Pearson, nearly an interception, and it's a new set for the home side.
Couldn't see at live speed where the error came from in the tackle, but it hasn't been challenged and it's great field position for the Cowboys.
Solid and unspectacular set to get North Queensland going. Hipgrave lucky not to be penalised for contact on the kicker.
We have kickoff and it's first use of the footy for the Cowboys!
Hello and welcome back to a Friday night with rugby league! Thanks for joining our coverage of the Cowboys hosting the Titans from Queensland Country Bank Stadium. Expecting kickoff around 6:05pm. The Cowboys will take the field as they were named 1-17 on Tuesday. The Titans have made more changes since Tuesday as an injury for Tyrone Roberts has forced him out and Phillip Sami back to fullback. See our late mail article for the full list of changes. For North Queensland, if Scott Drinkwater can return to the form he started the year with then there could be a lot of points scored in some football friendly conditions at the ground tonight. Following comments from Titans coach Justin Holbrook earlier in the week, we’re expecting to see Jamal Fogarty take on a full halfback’s workload in his third NRL game and first since 2017. Ash Taylor will look to get his hands on the ball about ‘once per set’. The Titans have not won in Townsville since 2012.
