Match Overview

The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have easily accounted for the Brisbane Broncos in the 2nd game of the 2nd ever NRL Magic Round, winning by a score of 50-6 that included 3 tries scored within six minutes of each other against a Broncos team of 11 men.

The Sea Eagles had all the ball to begin with and looked to have scored through Brad Parker, however the bunker deemed that the tackle had been completed before he grounded the ball.

It wouldn't matter however, with Tom Trbojevic scoring courtesy of an early shift to the right by Cherry-Evans to Saab.

Manly would sustain the pressure and the Broncos would crack, with Martin Taupau throwing a pass a halfback would be proud of to set Sean Keppie up under the posts with the second try of the night.

All the defending would take a toll on the Broncos who has been doing their best to hold Manly out despite limited possession, however the Sea Eagles executed a basic sweeping play to perfection and Brisbane were out of ideas defensively as they allowed Jason Saab to stroll over for his first try of the game.

Right on half time, Jamayne Isaako would give the "visitors" some hope when he showed some great strength to burrow his way through Brad Parker and Keppie's tackle attempt to get his side on the board before half time, making the score 20-6.

The Broncos came out firing to start the second half, however any hope was soon extinguished as Cherry-Evans put in a pinpoint kick that Jason Saab leapt up for to score his second.

In the 53rd minute, Tyson Gamble was sent to the sin bin controversially for a high tackle on Reuben Garrick, before he was joined just a minute later by Jordan Riki for an equally questionable offence.

Manly were able to make full use of their time against 11 men, scoring 3 tries in just 6 minutes. Tom Trbojevic put his brother Jake through a gaping hole close to the line, while in the next set Lachlan Croker dived over from dummy half. The pain of Broncos fans was compounded when on the next set Garrick came up with a magical flick pass to Schuster, who found Tom Trbojevic on his inside who went over for his second.

Manly would raise the bat for 50 in the 74th minute, when Schuster was there in support of Cade Cust's line break.

In the final minute, Schuster and Croker would both be sin-binned for professional fouls.

Next week, the Broncos will travel to Sydney to take on the Roosters at the SCG, while Manly will be faced with the task of playing the Eels at Bankwest on Sunday afternoon.
