Let's hope we get three more incredible contests like this one over the next two weekends. Thanks for joining us tonight on League Unlimited, enjoy the rest of your weekend and we'll see you next weekend for the Preliminary Finals
Well played to both sides and the Parramatta Eels will be devastated after losing such a close contest in which both sides had opportunities to take the lead although it was Nathan Cleary's first half penalty goal that separated the sides.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this ripping contest as much as I did. A perfect way to end the night and weekend of footy as the Penrith Panthers secure their spot in next Saturday's Preliminary Final against the defending premiers the Melbourne Storm.
Paulo drops it after a shocking ball from dummy-half. It looked like Paulo had no idea the ball was headed his way and subsequently spills his lollies. Unfortunately for Parramatta that ended their season and the Penrith Panthers prevail in an absolute thriller
Knock on from Kurt Capewell as he knocks the ball down and ends the play. Parramatta have the chance to end Penrith's campaign right here with a scrum from in front. Can they do it or will Penrith prevail?
Parramatta earn themselves a repeat set through Mitchell Moses and now have a great chance to take the lead in the final stages
An error from Koroisau at the worst possible time, giving Parramatta the ball just 20 metres out
Another error from Ray Stone but he's probably harshly done by there, despite this, it hasn't been a great half for Stone who's made three errors this term
Another repeat set from the Panthers thanks to a great grubber kick from Cleary. Koroisau was inches short on the previous tackle from scoring. Which side is going to take their chance first?
Another error from Ray Stone as he fails to pick the ball up at the play the ball and once again the Panthers have a chance here to park themselves at this end of the field as they chase that elusive second try of the match
Ray Stone coughs the ball up in his own half after a brilliant tackle from the smaller Jarome Luai, another great chance here for the Panthers
Knock on from Dylan Edwards who was pressured as soon as he got the ball which resulted in the fullback fumbling the ball handing it back to the Eels
The pressure has been high for the duration of the contest and both teams continue to apply it in attack. A quick play the ball on last allowed Cleary to take the ball over the advantage line and put a grubber into the in goal for a repeat set. Big big set coming up here for the Panthers
A challenge from the Eels goes awfully after they challenged a knock-on call and it was deemed that the Eels stripped the ball in the tackle giving the Panthers a set starting on half way
Brilliant intercept from Crichton shuts down Parramatta's play which would've certainly resulted in a chance for the Eels. Both teams have gone so close to scoring multiple times throughout this game but neither side can take their opportunities
Parramatta go the length of the field and earn themselves another repeat set after another great grubber kick from Moses which was intended for Ferguson but the Panthers scrambled to get there first
Another disallowed try for the Panthers as Jarome Luai is offside and came within 10 metres of Blake Ferguson under the high ball. Lucky for Parramatta as Blake Ferguson stood no chance under the torpedo bomb from Nathan Cleary which saw Penrith score in the corner. Penrith continuing to slip at the last step, allowing Parramatta to stay in the contest
Second half underway here in Mackay with what is shaping up to be a great contest
Half time here in the second Semi Final and the Panthers have a two point lead in a half that presented both sides with ample opportunities to score points but failed to do so. It's been a physical contest and the second half should be a ripper between the two Western Sydney sides.
Panthers are a awarded a penalty for a high tackle in which they take the option to take a two point lead heading into the break and Nathan Cleary makes no errors as expected as he gives his side the lead at half time
Dunster coughs the ball up early in the set, taking the pressure off the Panthers which was desperately needed for the home side
Parramatta earn another repeat set after a great grubber kick from Moses who's starting to stamp his authority on the game
Kikau knocks on a Parramatta bomb kick. After an extended period of great field position for the Panthers, it's now the Eels time with a scrum 10 metres out from the Panthers line. Great chance for the Eels to take the lead
Burton coughs the ball up after a horrid pass from Viliame Kikau made it almost impossible to clean it up, Parramatta with great field position here
Now Parramatta have a disallowed try after a brilliant cut out ball found Waqa Blake who grounded it in the corner although the cut out ball was deemed the forward
Another disallowed try for the Panthers as a massive chance goes begging as Stephen Crichton's foot comes into contact just before he grounds the football. Penrith making waves at the moment
Disallowed try to the Panthers after Luai seemed certain to score but was called back for an obstruction
Cleary slots it from in front as expected to level the game
Penrith strike back on the back off some Nathan Cleary brilliance. The halfback sums up his options on tackle five and puts a brilliant grubber through for Capewell to collect and barge his way over the try line
Successful challenge by the Panthers as they retain the ball 10 metres from the Parramatta try line
Mosews makes no error with the kick as he extends the league to six
Dylan Edwards would love to have that back as he finds himself in a poor position and Mitchell Moses kick finds the turf and bounced back towards the Eels, allowing Waqa Blake to pick the ball up and score under the posts
Penrith go oh so close to opening the scoring, firstly with Cleary being pulled up short by Dylan Brown and secondly Matt Burton being taken over the side line on the last tackle despite an overlap
Here we go, both sides take the field for this thrilling semi final between the Penrith Panthers & the Parramatta Eels
