To'o is wrangled by the Manly cover defense. It was another swift swing to the left but the Sea Eagles were ready for it that time.

Stephen Crichton is everywhere tonight. He almost sent Charlie Staines away down the wing but the pass was behind the winger. The Panthers forwards are monsterous tonight.

After a slow start, the Panthers have taken control of this contest. They have limited the metres that Manly have made and taken the ball in good field position every time.

Izack Tago dives over for hopefully the Panthers first four-pointer here! It was simple hands and the youngster gets low and goes over.
Frantic finish to the set for the Panthers. It went left, right and back to the middle. The kick wasn't the best but Jake Turbo won't get a spot in the slip cordon after that drop.

Panthers survive another scare. Sea Eagles poked through from another kick, got themselves the ball back but it was taken well by the defenders. Now they get a six again.

Welcome back Rugby League! Kick-off is here! Sipley charges right into the Panthers pack to get us going.
Here come the Sea Eagles. They get the usual reaction from the faithful in Penrith as they trot onto the turf in their white and maroon jersey. Next here come the Champions. Penrith. The bell tolls for them as they stride confidently down the tunnel and get a rousing reception from their home fans. They haven't seen them in 200+ days and get to enjoy this side! Panthers obviously in their black kit and will kick us off tonight.
Welcome to Season 2022 everybody! We start off the year with a fantastic contest between two sides who lit up the competition. Penrith Panthers are the defending Premiers after beating Souths in the decider while Manly Sea Eagles scored points at will but fell in the Prelim. The Panthers will be without their talisman in Nathan Cleary but have returned a majority of the squad from the win last year. Manly obviously have Tommy Turbo in their ranks and love to find the stripe. This should be a wonderful exhibition of rugby league to kick off the new season! Grab your snacks, drinks and whatever else. Get ready to ride the Rugby League rollercoaster for another year!
