Match Overview

The Wests Tigers have left last week's highway robbery behind them as they scored an impressive 32-18 victory over the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.

Starting fast, the Tigers opened the scoring after 13 minutes when Brent Naden opened the scoring in the corner after they were able to keep the ball alive spinning it wide and getting the overlap.

The Broncos hit back just after the 20 minute mark when Tesi Niu put on the afterburners and Adam Reynolds set it all up with class. A second Broncos try came at the half-hour mark when Ezra Mam scored a remarkable try when he ended upside down but still managed to get the ball to the line for a try. Adam Reynolds converted and gave the Broncos a 12-6 lead.

A brain snap from Brent Naden cost the Tigers a second but it didn't hurt because they were able to score and level the scores when Jock Madden scored after starting the play putting Kelma Tuilagi through a gap before Madden finished it off.

The Tigers started the second half in dominant fashion with two quick tries inside the opening fifteen minutes when Starford To'a was able to cross after the Tigers kept the ball alive off a Jock Madden kick which went through the hands for a try. The second try came when Zane Musgrove charged at the line and saw the bunker overturn a live no try decision from Adam Gee.

The Broncos struggled while Adam Reynolds was off the field but after returning from his successful HIA, the Broncos found momentum and Jordan Riki had too much strength to get over and close the gap to just the solitary try.

Momentum had swung but the Broncos struggled in attack and eventually their poor play came back to hurt them when the Tigers had set up camp down the other end and earned a penalty after Pat Carrigan put on a nasty hip drop on Jackson Hastings who had to leave the field.

The Tigers then sealed the deal when Adam Doueihi was able to go through some poor defence straight off the back at a scrum to score and seal the deal.

Next weekend, the Broncos head to the SCG for a clash against the Roosters whilst the Tigers will look to keep their form going when they take on the Knights.
