Match Overview

Brisbane have very nearly racked up 50 against a Wests Tigers side that looks to be getting further away from improving every week.

The Broncos were impressive in their unrelenting attack all game, and even though they racked up 46 points, they let several opportunities go begging through either poor handling or pushed passes, meaning they've still got room for improvement, which is scary for the other 16 NRL sides.

In the ninth minute the scoring began when the Broncos, despite some rushed and slightly panicky passing to flat footed players, eventually got the ball out to Jordan Riki, who stepped inside a defender and then raced 15 metres to score a soft try. Adam Reynolds failed to convert the try.

After going close twice, the Broncos finally added another try in the 16th minute when Ezra  Mam grubbered on the left side for Kurt Capewell, who chased it down, regathered and scored. Reynolds converted the try.

Arthars almost scored himself 2 minutes later, but it was Payne Haas who got the next try, when he scooped up the ball from dummy half and barged over to score a strong try. Reynolds converted again.

In the 30th minute, The Tigers were on the attack when a stray pass went behind their backs. Selwyn Cobbo pounced and picked up the ball before racing 87 metres to score. Reynolds converted to make it 22-0.

Four minutes later the Broncos scored yet again when Reece Walsh ran to the line then grubbered through for Riki to plant the rolling ball for his second try. Reynolds converted and at halftime lead by a commanding 28 points.

The Tigers finally got on the board 3 minutes into the second half when a Brandon Wakeham kick was taken nicely by Isaiah Papali'I, who then fell over the line to score. Adam Doueihi converted.

Any chance of a second half comeback though was quickly snuffed out when Herbie Farnworth strolled through two stationary Tigers defenders on the left side to score a soft try. Reynolds conversion gave the Broncos a 34-6 lead.

Reynolds very nearly created a try for Kotoni Staggs on the right side with a grubber behind the line, but the centre couldn't control the ball and knocked it on.

It would only take another minute before Staggs would get himself on the board when the Broncos shifted right, created an easy overlap and Staggs strolled in to score. Reynolds added the conversion to bring up 40 for the Broncos.

Play from both sides started to lack discipline, with both sides pushing passes, losing the ball and giving away set restarts. In the 64th minute, Jake Simpkin dived over from dummy half to score. Doueihi converted.

A penalty near full time for the Broncos near the Tigers line, allowed Reynolds to put in a grubber which Staggs regathered and scored. Reynolds converted just on fulltime to give the Broncos a commanding 46-12 victory.

3. Payne Haas

The big man was unstoppable, made huge metres all game up the middle and even scored a try from dummy half.

2. Reece Walsh

Was scheming at the back all night long, either making breaks or contributing to them. Brilliant display.

1. Adam Reynolds

His kicking game was again exemplary while he continued to steer the side around with ease and exploited many Tigers defensive weaknesses.
