Kieran Foran scores first career hat-trick as Gold Coast defeat Canterbury 34-30 in a sloppy Sunday afternoon affair at Cbus Super Stadium.
The Gold Coast Titans didn't play their best footy on Sunday afternoon at home but they still did enough to beat Bulldogs. Both sides struggled mightily with their handling and defence but enough moments of individual brilliance got the job done for the Titans.
Kieran Foran scored the first two tries of the match slicing open the Bulldogs defence with a couple of solo runs.
The Bulldogs hit back with a strong solo effort by Josh Addo-Carr in the 33rd minute where he made a break in his own half and then beat some lacklustre cover defence to go over and score.
AJ Brimson hit back almost immediately in the 37th minute following up some second phase play and beating the fullback nicely to score.
Foran added his third try in the 53rd minute again another strong show and go to barge over. Foran had five career doubles up to date but this was the first time he has ever crossed for three tries in a match.
Not to be outdone, Addo-Carr added his second and third in the 60th and 71st minute. His third try was a great counter attack as Hayze Perham made a break off the kick return and then chipped for Addo-Carr who juggled the ball off the bounce before regathering to score.
Both teams made a plethora of errors throughout the game, maybe an early peak behind the curtain into what they will be training to fix this offseason. The Bulldogs finished with 14 errors and 47 missed tackles while the Titans had 12 errors and 36 missed tackles.
The flowing stream of errors led to plenty of points that would have kept the fans in attendance happy. The Titans finish their season on 9 wins and 14th on the ladder while the Bulldogs will finish 15th.
