This is the fourth time the two nations have faced off in Melbourne: New Zealand prevailed in 1991 at Olympic Park, while Australia claimed victory in 2006 at Telstra Dome and in 2010 at AAMI Park.

Australia have won 4/4 tests at AAMI Park; New Zealand are 0/1 at the venue.

This is the second time the two nations have faced off at AAMI Park - Australia defeated New Zealand in the first match played at the Melbourne venue in 2010.

Australia have won 7 our of 8 tests against New Zealand since Mal Meninga took over as coach in 2016.

New Zealand have retained the same squad from the side that demolished Samoa 50-0 last Saturday.
