FULL-TIME: Dolphins 30 def Manly 24.
It'll come down to this!!
Short kickoff recovered by the Phins.
Isaako adds the penalty goal. 30-24.
Bullemor has been placed on report. Penalty for the Phins
Farnworth is in all sorts. Looked like a rear-naked choke from Bullemor haha
Manly have spilled it coming out of their own end. They will challenge.
Manly starting to enter last chance saloon areas.
Update on Turbo: It is a hamstring injury. Manly will send him for scans.
Talau has spilled it... they are going to check it though so HANG ON! Great decision live from Todd Smith of a knock on live.
SIX MORE MANLY: Slow peel
Looks like Brooks runs into Donoghoe
PENALTY MANLY: Block on Brooks chasing the ball. Phins might challenge.
PENALTY MANLY: High contact by Kaufusi
Isaako adds the extras.
TURBO is OFF, I repeat TURBO is OFF
Manly jammed in on their right edge when Ben Trbjoevic flew in off his wing, leaving Garrick deserted and Jack Bostock capitalised on an open run to the line to retake the lead.
So with GCKT. Aloiai will be put on report.
Plath will go for a HIA.
PENALTY PHINS: High shot on Plath, however Gordon Chan Kum Tong gets worse for wear.
Garrick converts the penalty shot.
PENALTY MANLY: Late shot on Kaufusi
That is probably the softest high tackle we have ever seen in the game's history. PENALTY MANLY: High tackle. It was high but nothing forceful in that. The Dolphins PA playing Rugrats...
Prior to the ruck interference.
Todd Smith was screaming a knock on - I think he loses this prior to the knock on for mine.
Fuller takes it spectacularly! He is amazing !
Turbo looking better and moving freely!
WE'RE ON TURBO WATCH! He's holding an ankle here.
GCKT is on for the Sea Eagles.
Dolphins going on the front foot here. Great take from Talau under enormous pressure.
Dolphins planning a double change here with Plath and Kaufusi set to return for the home side.
We're locked up once more.
Dolphins will go for goal
PENALTY PHINS: Offside at scrum
Dolphins bomb it and it was batted back by Herbie. Fuller skipped and dance and weaved, found Katoa who chipped over the top, forces an error and Manly are on the backfoot... AGAIN!
DCE kicks inside the 40m but Bostock gets the tip from H1 and recovers that brilliantly.
Garrick converts.
Manly crossed first to start the second half after a last tackle six again against the home side. The Trbjoevic's combined, well Tom to Jake who then got it back to Tom to cross for the first of the second stanza.
SIX AGAIN MANLY: Slow peel
This has been sneaking into the game as of late with the crusher, players staying down trying to get a crusher tackle and JMK has been placed on report for a player backing into contact.
Challenge is SUCCESSFUL! Dolphins retain the footy.
Hang on! Bunker will challenge this one so off we go to the bunker and challenge centre thanks to Bundaberg.
Mark Nicholls putting it down
We're playing on as Turbo and Talau combine brilliantly to send the winger away, he is CRUNCHED in a huge tackle from Fuller, they work play to the right and Bullemor is taken down on the last.
Guilty of a knock on
They have been let off on tenterhooks. Katoa guilty
Nicholls for number 2?????? Denied! Manly's middle is looking flatter than a map
Turbo loses it, no disruptor ruled and it's play on for the Phins with a fresh set.
DCE loses the footy. Seibold is livid in the coaching box.
Burbo is crunched, Bostock jams in and smashes him!
Back underway for the second stanza and Jamayne Isaako has knocked on!
HALF-TIME: Phins 20 lead Manly 16
Unsuccessful... 20-16
WHAT IS GOING ON! It was 16-4 a minute ago. Jeremy Marshall-King fooled the marker defence and was able to offload to Jake Averillo who busted wide open before finding Mark Nicholls to give the Dolphins the lead.
Isaako converts.
Off the next set and literally nothing. Trai Fuller got the ball over half-way and busted through some febel defence. If that wasn't enough, he audaciously chipped over Tommy Turbo and got the bounce to give the Dolphins the game tying try!
TRAI FULLER YOU STAR!
Isaako gets this one. 16-10.
Beautiful pass from Nikorima to Lemuelu and he crashes over for the try.
SIX MORE PHINS: Ruck infringement
As Peter Combe once sang "the rain keeps tumbling down..." in Brisbane!
Some Dolphins extravagant play gets rewarded. They threw everything at them, Nikorima's kick was batted back in by Farnworth and it came off DCE's boot. A fresh set.
Great patience from Trai Fuller! Forces Turbo's kick dead.
Just feel the Dolphins are trying to play at the speed they have recently without necessarily earning the right to do so. Just as we say that, DCE forces Bostock to take it in the in-goal, a strong chase by Garrick forces him in the in-goal.
Manly complete the set post points.
Garrick adds the extras.
Despite earning a set restart, the Dolphins went for glory immediately. Max Plath's pass was intercepted by Luke Brooks who sprinted away. The former Tiger was able to find Tolu Koula who had too much pace for the cover to cross for try number three.
PICKED OFF AGAIN!
SIX MORE PHINS: Ruck infringement
Garrick converts the Waddell try.
After a lull period in the game, the Dolphins made a bad mistake out of yardage which allowed Talau to steal it one on one. From that set, Tom Trbojevic's grubber kick was waited to perfection and Corey Waddell did just enough to force downward pressure on the ball.
Tommy Talau is having a great first half. Steals it one on one from Isaako.
Kaufusi off for Stone for the home side.
Katoa's kick was inside the 40m but well covered by Garrick. He participates in the Sideways Olympics and is halted for his troubles.
Dolphins trying to take advantage of the new Manly right edge. Not an unfamiliar change for Manly having Burbo at centre though, he deputised well in that upset win over Penrith a month ago.
Turbo's pass was just behind Garrick and he has put it down.
Klein is going to rule a goal-line dropout for the moment. Great grubber from Brooks and then toed ahead by Bullemor and it has gone dead off the Dolphins. So Burbo has gone to centre, Garrick to wing.
Jason Saab has come from the ground, Ethan Bullemor has come on.
SIX MORE MANLY: Inside 10m.
PICKED OFF! Now DCE has it and Manly are back on the attack, Manly will get another set.
NO TRY! Saab in the hands of the medical team on the sideline. Landed flush on the shoulder, commentators suggest a classic AC joint injury.
VIDEO REF: Klein has NO TRY but this could be costly. Jason Saab in all sorts on that sideline.
Bromwich spills the ball on play 2. Manly on the attack!
Isaako thunders off the left post.
A PICK 4 for Euan Aitken. The Dolphins capitalised with a try against the run of play after Daly Cherry-Evans tried to catch the home side asleep down the short side, unfortunately for Manly the pass was picked off by Euan Aitken who crossed to level the scores.
PICKED OFF!
Manly wanted nothing to do with Katoa's spiral bomb. It gets a favourable bounce for the visitors and the Eagles now are working away from their own end.
Manly complete their set after points without much concern.
Garrick unable to add the extras.
Both sides exchanged early penalties for hand on the ball, but the Manly side capitalised on their field position best. The left edge left the Dolphins gasping for numbers after a poor defensive read and Tommy Talau dove across in the corner for the opening try.
PENALTY MANLY: Hand on ball against the newcomer to the starting side Connelly Lemuelu.
Averillo was claiming it. Todd Smith's flag was raised for a while before it was noticed by the ref. Great decision by the touchie.
PENALTY PHINS: Strip after the tackle was complete. DCE guilty.
DCE goes for a 40/20 and Bostock does well to keep the ball in play.
Katoa's grubber is trapped and scrapped. Burbo gets some redemption. Dolphins didn't really fire an attacking shot.
Koula managed to keep the ball in play by some miracle, Burbo loses the ball and his footing. Dolphins recover and will have the first major chance.
Both sides strong through their maiden sets. Slight advantage to Manly with their field position to start with better than the Phins.
Not the best crowd at Suncorp tonight.
We're underway from Suncorp ! Manly get first use of the football.
Referee is Ash Klein in NRL match number 385. Unless injured, he will join Ben Cummins in the illustrious 400 club at season's end. Touch judges are Michael Wise and Todd Smith. In the video referee box tonight is Gerard Sutton. AJ Lucantonio will be on the keys tonight. Kickoff at 10 to 8.
Suncorp Stadium plays host for the Dolphins match with Manly. These two sides have showcased fantastic attacking football in 2024 and will be looking for much of the same here to kickstart Round 10. Onto team news, for the Dolphins some forward changes with Felise Kaufusi start with Mark Nicholls dropping back to the bench. Connelly Lemuelu will earn a start in the back row as a result. Kurt Donoghoe comes onto the bench replacing Kenny Bromwich who is the concussion sub. Manly are 1-17 with Aaron Woods the concussion sub this evening.
