Enjoy this Dogs fans - enjoy the street parties too! What a night for the Dogs.
Hayward kicks it over the sideline but we won't get another play.
It's not Kogarah anymore - it's INTERCEPTVILLE - Both sides have thrown an INT in as many minutes.
PICKED OFF BY LIDDLE! He's away but brought down brilliantly by Kikau.
Kikau goes through, throws the dummy and is brought down at the 20m
The kick for Lomax, well shielded by the Bulldogs and Lomax is forced to watch the ball sail into touch.
Mann comes up with a mistake.
Burton converts - 28-10.
Dogs will go for two as the fans head for the exits here at Kogarah - a healthy crowd as the Dogs give the "Na, Na, Na" to the home faithful.
PENALTY DOGS: Inside 10m
Lomax for the intercept... no cigar for the future Parra winger.
Tracey goes down the left but brought down by some terrific scramble. Dogs would want one more to put them away.
Scrappy on the last and good scramble by Jacob Liddle I believe saves a try for the hosts.
SIX MORE DOGS: Hand on ball
Reed Mahoney is back on the bike.
Dragons take a gamble on the 20 tap and it backfires.
Kiraz is tackled short of the line.
No foul on Connor Tracey.
VIDEO REF DOGS: Sutton has NO TRY - looking at grounding and contact on Tracey.
That looked a bit touch and go. As a result, Gerard Sutton uses the safety blanket of a goal-line dropout so they can review it at Eveleigh and it is upheld.
Ohhhh - they have put it down the Dragons. RFM looked the guilty party.
SIX MORE: Inside 10m - Sam Hughes
PENALTY DRAGONS: High shot by Josh Addo-Carr.
Reed Mahoney's return to play is doubtful
Dragons just starting to put pressure on but it is undone as Hunt's kick goes too far. Can the Dogs put the emphatic exclamation point on this one.
Big big news - Reed Mahoney is OFF with a shoulder injury.
Burton converts
Mann bumps off defenders and scores. Some really poor defensive efforts there for the Dragons and the little lock forward barges over to score.
Smart play from the Fox there. Short dropout is recovered by the receiving team. Really good opportunity for the visitors.
Tuipulotu takes zero chances and they'll get it back.
Bulldogs come up with possession.
That was a crazy play from the captain. He tried to chip it, it hit the post and eventually it was cleaned up by Bailey Hayward.
Back to back six more's
Good signs for the Dragons as they earn another set for a slow peel
Challenge successful - much needed for the home side!
PENALTY DOGS: Strong run from the captain Crichton - but the Dragons are going to challenge.
The Dragons have great starting field position despite the great kick chase of Bailey Hayward.
Hunt kicks into the corner. It sits up into the in-goal and the Dogs are stuck in quick-sand.
Harry Hayes is going to be denied. Some strong defence from the Dragons.
Hame Sele is going straight into an ambulance and he will go for testing.
Dragons get it back - Hayward with the defensive clean-up.
Challenge is successful - Reed strips it before Preston gets there but he knocks on.
Good strong run from Suli and he earns his side a penalty. Looks like Reed is the guilty party but Critta gets in Sutton's ear and we will challenge
FOX breaks through on the kick return. On the ensuing set, Tracey had some numbers but threw the offload straight to the Dragons and they are off the hook.
Back underway for the second half
Sad injury news with FOX reporting Hame Sele coming from the ground with an irregular heart-beat. We send him our best and hope testing comes up okay for the big man. It isn't uncommon in the game, Dane Gagai is a recent example to have suffered one.
HT: Dogs 20 lead Dragons 10
Burton for two is WIDE of the mark but a brilliant chase from JAC nearly leads to a try and Flano is filthy at the complacency!
Dragons looking dangerous - just missing the execution.
From about a metre in from touch on the hill side of Kogarah, Lomax shifts it to the left. Score remains a two possession game.
Flanagan and Leilua combine brilliantly to send Sloan away on the inside. Sloan utilises his speed to beat Tracey down the left hand touch line to score.
Mahoney's kick goes dead.
Kiraz is going to be held up ! Great resilient defence from the home side who desperately need to hang on before the break.
PENALTY DOGS: High shot
VIDEO REF DRAGONS: No try for Sloan - backed by Liam Kennedy but no audio to confirm his decision and we are robbed of a "DECISION MADE" billowing over Kogarah.
Dogs fail to complete their set post points.
20-6
Sexton to Xerri 2.0 - Brilliant short pass to Sexton as he went deep into the line, found his man in Xerri and he has a double.
PENALTY DOGS: High tackle
14-6 and the Dargons need to lift here.
Try is confirmed after a nervous freeze-frame for everyone, including us with our auto-tweets!
Sexton puts boot to ball and Xerri wins the race to ground the ball first.
SIX MORE DOGS: Slow peel
Around the Grounds from Paris 2024 - Oceania McKenzie is in third at the completion of the Boulder section of the sports-climbing while we have Cassiel Rousseau in the Men's Diving final.
Lomax has nailed it from touch. 8-6 Dragons.
Just like most teams against the Bulldogs this season, the kick has been the best course of action. Ben Hunt threads the needle for a kick line-break and Lomax has enough pace to beat Addo-Carr to get the bounce and get the Dragons on the board.
Kikau has lost the ball into contact - they are going to challenge it... the referees have saved their ruling as Todd Smith on the touch judge overrules the initial ruling.
Dragons starting to get a roll on here - Hunt chips for the corner and JAC does just enough to shadow the ball over the sideline. Tyrell Sloan on report for a tripping action I believe I heard.
Outside the intercept there has been as little action here as there was in the BreakDancing this morning.
Dragons causing some problems here with their second phase passing - but the Dogs did very well to wrap up the attacking threat of Sloan.
Burton adds the penalty goal!
PENALTY DOGS: Yes they had a penalty under Gerard Sutton! Hand on the ball which resulted in the strip after tackle complete.
Christian Tuipulotu puts it down in the contest!
Chance for the home side. Hunt found some space but the pass to Sloan was just misfired by Ben Hunt there. Dogs are let off the hook.
Dragons recover the short-dropout. Good effort play from Sloan.
Lomax forced in-goal. He took it brilliantly in the air. But he was well tackled and driven back into the in-goal by Sexton and also Curran.
Now back into the grind. Important the Dragons don't let it slip here like they have several times when conceding early.
Burton converts - 6-0.
The Dragons had all of the early running but an early attack was brought unstuck. A Ben Hunt pass was intercepted by Matt Burton who ran the best part of 90 metres to score.
PICKED OFF BY BURTON!
PENALTY DRAGONS: Inside 10m - Reed Mahoney placed retrospectively on report for a late shot.
Sloan almost breaks through but the pass is picked off by Kiraz.
First set of the game - Curran is crunched by the Dragons defence.
Underway for what promises to be one interesting game of football.
Well the referee choice has been one that's incited controversy no matter where you stand in the game. Gerard Sutton is in charge having sparked the furore of both sets of fans this week, Phil Henderson and Todd Smith are running the flag. The decision is made and Liam Kennedy has the controls of the bunker.
Late SUB: AJ for Fergo - for at minimum the first half. But all systems are go here at Kogarah, the crowd is rumbling loudly and the atmosphere is tense as the Dragons host the Dogs. Let's remind you of team changes, Dragons yet again swap their forwards with the bench forwards; Hame Sele & Blake Lawrie go into the starting side, Francis Molo & De Belin drop to the bench; Michael Molo 18th man. Dogs are 1-17
