SOS for 2! BANG BANG BANG! SOS delivers the SOS for the Dolphins!
Dolphins now in range.
Wide right for CHT.
Warriors in range now
Good kick return from DWZ.
A reminder we play 5 mins each-way. First to score wins
Underway for GP
Warriors will kick running from LEFT TO RIGHT
CNK takes it over the sideline. We are off to GOLDEN POINT.
Wide left - Hammer catches on the full. Seven tackle set
NO GOOD - Wide left
We're level!
PENALTY TRY! What a BRAVE decision from Wyatt Raymond to give that live decision in just his eighth career game.
VIDEO REF: Wyatt has a LIVE PENALTY TRY!
Ray Stone loses it coming out of their own end... Can someone, ANYONE complete a set of six please.
Big play from Lachie Hubner, saves the goal-line brushes of the Dolphins. Terrific scramble.
Dolphins now throw it back to the Wahs. This is RUGBA LEAGUE in 2024.
Pass is picked off by Farnworth, Warriors rush their sets.
Warriors get it back!
Isaako adds the extras.
Nikorima with a brilliant short pass to Felise Kaufusi who breaks away. He finds Averillo and the Dolphins reclaim the lead.
This season is fast becoming a "Choose your Own Adventure" novel. This is becoming one hell of an acid trip we are going down in 2024.
We're level!
SIFAKULA HAS CROSSED! A maiden NRL try for Demitric Sifakula - the Warriors have dominated the second half. From the tap kick, Harris-Tavita caused chaos, stepping past several defenders. He got a miracle offload to Wayde Egan who found Sifakula to cross!
Ali Leiataua now off for a HIA. This game is BANANAS!
HANG ON! Ali Leiataua may have lost this, Wyatt has got this 100% right. But they give a penalty for an offside.
Ali Leiataua is AWAY. Finds CNK brought down 10 out.
It's dejavu - CHT misses another kick from kickable range. 26-20.
The Dolphins second half demons continued to appear. This time, a clever Martin kick failed to be recovered by Oryn Keeley in the contest with CNK, Te Maire Martin was there to scoop it and it is back to a one possession game.
Katoa doesn't get the kick right and it is out on the full!
Ooo I don't know. Bostock is ruled to have possession, I believe Barnett had possession there. Referee's have their own vision, our 4K pictures aren't at the same level (:
PLATH SAYS GET THAT INTO YOU!
CHT's conversion is waved away. Wide left.
It was soon the Warriors turn to capitalise on an opposition error. A pass out the back caused all sorts of defensive chaos for Nikorima, fortunately for the visitors, Ali Leiataua was on the spot to pick the ball up and score.
SIX MORE WAHS: Inside 10m
Averillo tried to be too expansive and poor Max Plath has to take the fall for the error and the hospital pass of his team-mate.
23.5 to play, Warriors need to flick the switch to high drive.
Isaako continues his streak.
A Mitch Barnett error gave the Dolphins much needed field position. The home side capitalised in the resulting set as Nikorima delivered a magical pass for Farnworth's second try of the contest.
Barnett puts it down. Bad end to what looked like a great set
Wahs competing on EVERY KICK - Kosi did really well but couldn't keep possession.
NO TRY: Obstruction by TPJ
VIDEO REF: Wyatt has NO TRY - looking at a shepherd.
PENALTY PHINS: That one is more of a high shot than the earlier one.
Niukore overruns the pass that time. Walker getting ready to come back into the action for the visitors. Done very well in the sin-bin period.
Successful.
The Warriors started the second half brilliantly and capitalised on field position. A brilliant kick from Martin was well chased by Kurt Capewell and he has grounded the ball.
Farnworth on report.
Hubner has been one of the best in the QLD Cup over the last few seasons.
Mark Nicholls won't be back tonight - Lachie Hubner has been activated for the home side.
PENALTY WAHS: High tackle
Back underway for the second stanza.
HT: Phins 20 lead Wahs 6
Pass to Connelly was forward. TJ in line with it and gets it right.
Walker goes to the bin for high contact to the head. Regardless of that, we saw some great sportsmanship to look out for Mark Nicholls.
That looks awful for Mark Nicholls. We hope he's okay!
Mark Nicholls is in awful pain here.
Isaako converts.
That is going to sting for the Warriors. After the controversial penalty, the Dolphins took full advantage. Jake Averillo broke through some pedestrian defence breaking away over half-way. He found Nikorima in support for a vital try.
Isaako converts the shot.
PENALTY PHINS: High contact according to our referee. That is one of the softer high tackle decisions of the season... I don't see any high contact there to be honest.
CNK does well, sliding across to save a try. Great hands across the backline, clever kick from Averillo and it'll be a goal-line dropout coming up.
AFB puts it down
CNK stays down after contact. Maybe a slight, slight crusher but it is accidental.
Good cover tackle from AFB and Egan.
Good charge from Isaako down the sideline.
Game starting to come back to the middle of the park here.
CHT converts.
That's a reward for their gambles on attacking kicks so far in the first half. Good high bomb from Te Maire Martin and Edward Kosi flies high over Isaako to take the football. Kosi still had work to do and runs over the top of Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow to get the Warriors back in it.
Warriors seemed shell-shocked early.
Max Plath looks like a player that will give NSW nightmares for years to come, been saying it since he burst on the scene in Darwin this season. Such a big motor and has so much to give for every contest. Really does deserve the accolades he deserves this season!
Isaako nails it.
With their finals hopes on life support, the Warriors were trying every trick possible. A cross-field kick from Chanel Harris-Tavita was batted back by Nicoll-Klokstad, unfortunately, it was scooped up by Max Plath who offloaded to Herbie Farnworth and raced the best part of 85 metres to score the Dolphins second.
They aren't catching Herbie from there.
This is crazy at Suncorp. Mitch Barnett will keep his kicking licence with a great chip and chase. Hammer takes it, runs 30m and loses the ball into the CNK contact. Wahs have a chance here.
Warriors at least throw something at the Dolphins line this time but great read from Jamayne Isaako.
Phins try to rush the pass but it goes sailing over the sideline. Some concern for Marata Niukore, seemed to cop an accidental elbow from Jack Bostock, got his head in the wrong position. Playing on for the moment as the independent doctor analyses the footage.
Kenny Bromwich was a little ginger getting up to play it but he looks okay and is playing on. As is Ed Kosi after his earlier scare.
Isaako adds the extras and it's an early 6-0 start.
As the forward battle was starting to wain. The Dolphins capitalised on field position and scored the first try. It took a beautiful grubber kick from Kodi Nikorima to leave Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad on ice-skates, and it was Felise Kaufusi grounded the ball first.
SIX AGAIN PHINS - Inside 10m
Will be a fresh set for the Phins. Kosi jammed in - picked up an injury. Still with the orange shirt.
PENALTY PHINS: Inside 10m
CHT goes for the chip and chase. Regained by Barnett, goes through a couple sets of hands, a great ball from Ali Leiataua put TMM into space but good tackling and scramble saves the day.
AFB puts it down - really strong goal-line defence from the Phins in the opening stages. Concerns still lingering about the attack on the goal-line from the Warriors.
Flat ball on the last - Wahs get a fresh set for the Phins not being on the line.
SIX MORE WAHS: Ruck infringement - slow peel
Two sides advance through their opening sets.
Surface at SUNCORP has held up well considering the rugby international that was played here yesterday/
We are underway from Suncorp Stadium. Mitch Barnett takes the first carry as they will be running from right to left.
Cue the Trumpets welcoming the Phins on the field.
Wyatt Raymond has the whistle for the eighth time in his NRL career. Getting assistance from touchies Chris Sutton and also Michael Wise. The bunker controls will be handled by Grant Atkins.
Phins are 1-17 - SOS is appropriately the 18th man. For the Wahs, SJ out, replaced by Te-Marie Martin. Sifakula comes onto the bench replacing Leka Halasima who played NSW Cup this morning for the Warriors. Taine Tuaupiki is 18th man.
Suncorp Stadium plays host to the Dolphins for the second last time in 2024. It's a match with significant play-off implications for both sides as the Dolphins need to try and jump the Dragons, meanwhile the Warriors are hanging onto deer hope. Let's check this afternoon's team news now.
