Round 25 - Cbus Super Stadium, Robina / Yugambeh - Crowd: 19286

Match Overview

Six tries in the final 50 minutes took the Roosters to a dominant 48-22 win against the Titans at Cbus Super Stadium.

The Roosters took the lead early, when Angus Crichton capitalised on broken play to score. They almost scored again through Dominic Young but that was ruled out by the Bunker. And the Titans took advantage of that reprieve to score a try of their own through Alofiana Khan-Pereira and make it a 6-4 game.

The Titans were also denied a Jayden Campbell try due to obstruction, which came while Jared Waerea-Hargreaves was in the sin bin for a high tackle. But before the Roosters prop could return, the Chooks extended their lead with a try to Young. But Khan-Pereira soon had a brilliant solo effort to score his second and tie the game at 10 after half an hour.

But after that it was all Roosters, with two tries to Daniel Tupou and a try to Sam Walker helping them to a 26-10 lead at the break. That momentum continued soon after when James Tedesco scored.

The Titans tried to bring the game back under control when Keano Kini scored, but the Roosters broke out with another scoring barrage when Crichton added a second and third try, and Sitili Tupouniua also scored a try. Khan-Pereira completed his hat trick to bring the final score to 48-22.

The win moves the Roosters into second, with a qualifying final at the Allianz Stadium now within reach. The loss officially ends the Titans narrow hopes of playing finals.
