The F-35 and C17's weren't the only high powered action in Brisbane tonight as the Dolphins picked up their first Brisbane Derby win with a 40-6 win over the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.
Starting the game fast the Dolphins dominated field position and possession but took them nearly 15 minutes to score as an initial shift left brought them back to the right and Jamayne Isaako scored in the corner.
The Dolphins were then controversially reduced to 12 men when on the advice of Ashley Klein in the bunker, Adam Gee sent Felise Kaufusi to the sin bin for a high shot on Adam Reynolds who had stayed down though replays seemed to show contact was maybe not high. The reduction in men didn't hurt the Redcliffe side as Jake Averillo went through for the first of his 2 tries in the opening half.
Pat Carrigan put his side back with in a try when he was able to get over from close range and Kotoni Staggs closed the gap back to six.
Just after the half-hour mark, the Hammer showed why he is probably the fastest man in the game when the ball was spilt by the Broncos and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow scooped it up with open space ahead of him.
Extending their lead to 18 just shy of the half-time break, Jake Averillo picked up his second after linking with Herbie Farnworth who went through some flimsy Broncos defensive efforts.
It wasn't an ideal start to the second half either for Brisbane as they conceded within the first ten minutes of the second half when it was telegraphed that Herbie Farnworth was going to come back inside to score but the Broncos just failed to read the message and let Farnworth in almost untouched.
The Hammer added his second try of the game when the Broncos defence was just stuck in quicksand as the Hammer went at the line and ducked under some awful defence to score. The Dolphins then extended their lead again as Herbie picked up his second of the night again after the Broncos turned the ball over and their defence just capitulated again.
The win leaves the Dolphins in a perfect position for the final spot in the top 8 as they take on the Knights in what is the last game of the season. The Broncos task is tough as they need every mathematical result go their way as well as picking up a win against the Storm.
