FT: Storm 37 def Sharks 10
Papi adds a disrespectful field goal.
Meaney misses.
Coronate the PROPER Prince Harry. Grant has a hattrick after Hughes puts up yet another bomb, Warbrick bats it back and Harry Grant gets a hattrick.
Sharks try to go short but they can't handle it.
Meaney converts.
Melbourne shooting for goal.
PENALTY STORM: High tackle.
PENALTY STORM: Toby is guilty of something and Gerard Sutton tells the lads "you don't want to be suspended".
To the shock of no-one - even the Soviets who hid the impacts of Chernobyl - NAS is involved.
Here we go - bit of bru ha ha
Challenge unsuccesful.
Katoa loses it in the contest. He is filthy with Gerard Sutton and the Sharks will challenge the ruling.
Short dropout is defused by Eli Katoa.
Meaney adds the extras. 30-10
Melbourne added further salt into the Cronulla wound with a brilliant Hughes bomb. Eli Katoa made these kicks contests' all night long and got his reward when he defused it, and unloaded to Grant to add his second try.
Sharks go right, nice hands to Katoa, up to the 20m line he kicks in field but it is well defused by Papi
Good kick pressure on Munster draws boos from the provocial AAMI Park crowd but replays show the contact is okay.
Cronulla working play into the Melbourne end. Hynes' kick is well taken.
Big TUI... denied by the brave Sharks defence.
Hughes pass is tipped so an extra set of six is inbound for the home side. Can they put the nail in the coffin.
Katoa can't come down with the bomb! No advantage for that first knock on.
PENALTY STORM: Ruck interference
Melbourne get through one tackle in the set post points but Josh King goes without it. We are off to the challenge centre for the first time tonight. Ruck interference - Challenge Successful
No good.
Air Warbrick! A beautiful kick from Hughes to an unmarked Warbrick and the NZ Olympian crosses for his second of the contest.
Melbourne looking to nail their attack in these next few sets.
Kennedy saves the day - Blore was coming through but Kennedy takes it in the in-goal.
Cronulla must hang on here.
Melbourne defuse their own kick but in the kerfuffle afterwards, the referee has found a knock on by Jack Williams.
Munster in a bit of pain with his ankle. He is up and moving which is positive for the Storm.
Trindall inside the 40 almost nails a 40/20 but good kick coverage from Will Warbrick eliminates the threat of the kick,
Grant now with a strong run out of dummy half.
Sione Katoa with a pain-killing needle.
Meaney converts.
Grant ducks over from the King offload
Melbourne get a fresh set - pass was ruled to touch a Shark.
Now here comes the overplay of Sweet Caroline... Sione Katoa on report.
PENALTY STORM: Strip after the call of held.
Hughes goes through now - Melbourne away. Katoa almost got there. On the next play, they are crunched and it is a turnover.
Back to live action after our priceless plug - the bomb was defused and spilt by Nicho Hynes.
FOX reporting thanks to the League Scene that Trai Fuller had a serious knee injury today in QLD Cup.
Melbourne survive - Hynes is crunched by Meaney and they will have to turn it over.
Royce Hunt gets given a caution about pushing someone off the mark... penalise him surely Sutton? We've seen that penalised before.
It took the Storm 43 minutes and Jack Howarth has made their first error of the contest.
Cronulla hold on in the first defensive set of asking.
NO TRY
VIDEO REF: Sutton has NO TRY - Grant looked very close to scoring so we will have a look. Looks like a great cover tackle - I think it is Nikora and Kennedy there.
SIX MORE STORM: Ruck infringement
PENALTY STORM: Hand on ball - Tom Hazelton looks the guilty party
Back underway for the second half
HT: Melbourne 14 leading Sharks 10
Hynes converts.
TRICKY TRINDALL TAKE A BOW! Brilliant pass from Brayden Trindall as he dragged the Storm defence out wide - he flicked it and turned Nikora underneath to score right under the posts on the stroke of half-time.
PENALTY SHARKS: Illegal steal by Harry Grant.
Katoa takes it well despite being absolutely wounded there - he was hurt in the contest which saw the Bunker intervene a few moments ago.
Papi is crunched by Nikora on the kick return. Katoa is still struggling with that knee injury - trying desperately to run it off as Dan Atkinson warms up on the sideline.
Sione Katoa came off second best in that collision.
VIDEO REF: Sutton has NO TRY - Coates has knocked it on and Butler has one replay to uphold the decision.
Talakai loses it in the contact of Papenhuyzen - Cronulla just feeling like they have to score almost off every play in this one.
Munster kicks early but well done by Kennedy.
Nice passage of play from both sides. Cronulla did well to get out of the guillotene but Melbourne counter with a great kick return.
Nikora wanted a penalty but the referee doesn't oblige. Waiting on some word re: Munster - he is still in the game but not looking himself at the moment since he took that shot to the ribs.
SHOT: Talakai has made Blore into a sandwich ! Massive hit there from Talakai
Meaney is successful
Melbourne are taking the two.
PENALTY STORM: Illegal tackle on support runner.
Um... Nicho... the ball is meant to go over the sideline. It has gone straight to one of the Melbourne players...
PENALTY SHARKS: Inside 10m - that is an easy get out of jail and yes you can guess that Bellamy would be raging.
Sharks bring Tom Hazelton into the action.
Meaney's kick is good.
Cronulla were punished for their inability to get a kick away on the last. Melbourne working to their right edge allowed Nick Meaney to deliver a magical offload to Will Warbrick and the Storm grabbed a second try.
Cronulla... stuck in quick sand on that set. Great kick pressure from the Storm and Melbourne have great starting field position.
Sharks go back to the power game on that set and to half-way. The kick is awkward and Papi went ice-skating but thankfully he is okay and the collective hearts of every league fan just about breathe again.
Oregon Kaufusi looking the pick of the bunch at the moment in the middle. Always pushing the Storm forwards and looks likely to throw an offload (that isn't risky).
Papi kicks early but the trap and scrap has been saved by Nicho
Cronulla with some risky play inside their own end. They got a result with the power game, I don't know why they felt the need to go away from that in that yardage set.
Melbourne just starting to get on the top of field position - good kick causes problems for the Sharks outside backs but Cronulla are able to clean it up.
Hughes kicks early and it's a great read by Sione Katoa.
PENALTY STORM: High tackle - Toby Rudolf and he has also been placed on report by Gerard Sutton.
Coates off to the races after a bad tap-back (if we can call it that) from Wilton and Melbs in good attacking territory.
No goal but the Sharks have done well to wrestle it back!
Cronulla were able to wrestle back momentum. A smart offload from Oregon Kaufusi saw the Sharks motor up field and began to push the Storm back towards their own line. From the ensuing set-restart, Cronulla moved the ball right as Siosifa Talakai isolated Jack Howarth, he got it away to Sione Katoa and the Sharks get one back.
SIX MORE: Slow Peel against Jack Howarth.
Cronulla have at least entered the arm-wrestle quicker than the Roosters did. Can they go set for set with the Storm though for long periods. That is the next question.
Sharks now run some shape. Brilliant bit of footy dragging Melbourne across the sidelines. Last tackle execution though wasn't great and Melbourne get to work it out of their own end.
Warbrick has taken them brilliantly this season and another great kick defusal. Matty Johns critical of the Sharks set there and he has a valid point with their shape and structure looking out of sync!
PENALTY SHARKS: High tackle by Nelson Asofa-Solomona and just for traditions, Cameron McInnes is split open.
Warbrick and Mulitalo contest it and it looks like Warbrick may have knocked it on and the Bunker have reviewed and overturned it to a 10 x 10 handover.
PENALTY STORM: Inside 10m
Rudolf trying to break through - he gets away but he tries to kick and fails to make contact with the ball.
Four seasons in one day in Melbourne. Lots of wind around with some of our friends in Melbourne saying it feels like 4 degrees at the moment.
Meaney adds the extras.
Munster catches the Sharks asleep and it is a ruthless start from the Storm. He used big NAS as a decoy which fooled Toby Rudolf and Munster goes through to score
