A fired-up Wests Tigers outfit have pulled off a stunning upset on Sunday afternoon to win the unofficial Lachlan Galvin Cup, beating an error-prone Bulldogs side 28-14 at CommBank Stadium.

Enari Tuala now puts the ball down and the Tigers are celebrating.

It just isn't the Bulldogs' afternoon. Stephen Crichton picks up a loose ball and is away! He has Lachlan Galvin in support with Apisai Koroisau chasing and Crichton tries to give the ball over but Galvin hesitates, the ball hits the turf and spits into touch.

A cheap penalty now puts the Tigers on halfway with a full set to come.

Adam Doueihi nearly kicks a 40/20 but Jacob Kiraz is able to save the day and then Matt Burton out of nothing splits the Tigers defence and is finally dragged down near the 20 but the ball spills out!

Onto the second half we go and the rain is still pouring. You'd think one more try should be enough to win it for the Tigers given how hard is should theoretically be to score points in these conditions. Although given the Tigers scored 20 in the first half maybe you can throw that out the window.

Viliame Kikau looked to have lost the ball there over the 20. It was either going to be a knock-on or penalty but the referee calls neither. Bizarre.

And another as Kurt Mann does what Cooper Cronk called for and runs hard and direct and almost goes through.

The Tigers had been testing the referee's patience a few times in the past couple of sets and now they're pinged mid-set for a six again.

A chance now for the Bulldogs to hit back as they earn an early yardage penalty. But Max King drops the ball mid-set.

Lachlan Galvin with a half-break as an opportunity opens up on the left edge but Brent Naden bring him down. Matt Burton on the last and he sends it to Jeral Skelton but the winger comes down with it.

Both sides now back to trading sets and there is plenty of feeling in every tackle as Alex Twal puts a big shot on Bronson Xerri.

No points from this set as Jahream Bula flies above Jacob Kiraz to contest the last-tackle bomb but he drops it.

The Tigers have really stepped up defensively in this game but ill-discipline continues to put them under pressure. Jeral Skelton drops it just over halfway.

Lachlan Galvin with plenty of touches in that set. Perhaps should've gone out wide instead of short to Viliame Kikau when he was wrapped up well. Galvin then kicks on the last, it's a good one but the chase doesn't match and Jahream Bula watches it go dead... just.

The ground is very wet and it is making it hard for the players to get many metres with their runs. The Bulldogs' attacking 20 area looks particularly bad. Lots of water.

The two combine there as Stephen Crichton pops a late pass for Jacob Kiraz who gets the flick out just as he is about to ground and Enari Tuala is over but the final pass was forward. A big pair of defensive sets from the Tigers.

An interesting note. While Jacob Kiraz has the No.1 on his back, in attacking it is Stephen Crichton at fullback with Kiraz at right centre.

Matt Burton is driving back nearly 20 metres on the third tackle as the Tigers aim up in defence. Bronson Xerri with a well-weighted grubber on the last to force a dropout.

The weather wreaking havoc again as Jarome Luai slips over and Stephen Crichton sees an opportunity to take the line on and slides over. But he looks to have come up just short and was the held up by Jahream Bula.
