QLD ARE ORIGIN CHAMPS!
Lomax gets it.
To'o goes across for a bit of a consolation try. Nice scheming from Connor Watson to find Luai who put it on the toe and Brian To'o gets a try.
CHALLENGE QLD: Unsuccessful.
PENALTY NSW: Obstruction.
Charity minutes exist in Origin... Jeremiah Nanai gets on for 2 and a half minutes.
Munster with the great game management.
To'o knocks on and here go the Maroons again.
NSW get it back via a one-on-one strip.
Holmes misses it.
With the game on the line, NSW had their fair share of chances on the Maroons goal-line and they couldn't execute. The Maroons were working them over relentlessly until they couldn't hang on any longer. A Dearden show and go fooled Jarome Luai on the outside and sealed QLD's third Origin shield in the last four years.
SIX TO GO QLD: Mann gets it and QLD have them shot to bits.
Cleary's mid field bomb is defused by Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and he gets up inside NSW territory.
QLD have wanted it more in this game - it has been so obvious throughout the game as a QUEENSLANDER chant rings out over Accor Stadium.
Kurt Capewell has been hit here - just a head clash with Hudson Young.
Trell's tip on goes forward.
QLD come up with an error and that is their first error in 68 minutes.
Lomax gets hit by Gehamat Shibasaki and they come away with possession.
Effort plays are the big difference between these two teams... nothing more or nothing less out here tonight.
Grant dives on it!
Smart game management from Tom Dearden.
To'o is away - there is no support. That is embarrassing from NSW.
Val is picked up and dumped.
CHALLENGE UNSUCCESSFUL NSW
CHALLENGE TIME NSW: We have a push and shove and we're going to get into it.
Goal line dropout is long and NSW have to truck it back.
Great decision from Ashley Klein. The rule says your allowed to use the sideline to play the ball.
PENALTY QLD: Ruck interference.
Lomax gets that kick and we're back to 14 points.
Off the back of three straight penalties to start the second half. NSW simply had to be next to score and they were. Off the back of some quick sweeping passes out to the right edge, Stephen Crichton simply had to outpace Lindsay Collins and the Bulldogs centre goes across for the first try of the second half.
To'o put down a metre out! This is incredible NSW defence.
PENALTY NSW: Ruck interference.
SIX MORE NSW: Ruck infringement on... tackle 1
BIG TACKLE! Tom Dearden with an amazing tackle on Brian To'o!!
Connor Watson and Hudson Young are on for the Blues now.
NSW just continue to be a step behind the pace in this game. They need to flick a switch quickly or the shield is well and truly back in QLD.
Outside and inside play ends disastrously for the Blues - Dylan Edwards drops it stone cold.
PENALTY NSW: Second effort.
Short ball from Luai to Crichton and that is a cracking tackle from Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow.
PENALTY NSW: Offside.
Better shape from the Blues in attack but QLD form the Berlin Wall to protect Hammer.
Good kick return from Edwards - gets play up the the 30m line.
Both sides with a safe start to the second half.
Back underway and Stefano got some bodies on the kick return.
HT: QLD 20 lead NSW 0
Holmes converts.
Grant burrows across from dummy half and the Blues have been made to pay a significant price for their poor discipline and defence.
Dearden pokes his nose through and is taken out.
Lomax knocks it back we're off to the centre of the sticks.
Toia taken metres away!
PENALTY QLD: Takeout
CHALLENGE SUCCESSFUL
CHALLENGE QLD: They are looking at a potential take out
Lomax goes without it... this redzone attack reminds me of watching the Newcastle Knights...
NSW inside QLD territory.
Looked to be a knock on there in that contest from the Maroons but the referee has cleared it and we keep going. QLD stuck inside their own 20m.
Better from Cleary - early kick that turns the Maroons around
That bomb is allowed to bounce... fortunately the Blues get on it.
Succesful
NSW were struggling to get into the game and the Maroons were warming into the contest. A shift to their right edge saw Rob Toia throw a desperation offload from the grasp of Latrell Mitchell and Brian To'o. It landed in the arms of Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow who got away from two defenders before finding Tom Dearden to run under the posts and put QLD three scores up.
Coates with a good kick return - Liam Martin sold that hard.
25 minutes into the decider and we have no change to our 8-0 scoreline - NSW just need to come up with some explosive play you feel.
QLD just playing safer, smarter footy in this opening half at the moment.
Stefano Utoikamanu is ON for Max King. Lindsay Collins is also on for QLD.
Great take from Coates - NSW need to bite down on the mouthguard and have a dig!
PENALTY NSW: Gehamat Shibasaki ruled to not have genuinely competed for the ball.
Successful
Despite both sides having numerous chances and coming up empty. The Maroons opened the scoring after 17 minutes after a contentious penalty against Reece Robson. Some nice sweeping play saw the ball in the arms of Gehamat Shibasaki who beat Zac Lomax who was jamming in, before finding Xavier Coates for the opening try of the decider.
PENALTY QLD: Robson takes Dearden off the ball - he was the closest player to that Toia offload.
QLD make a break with Dearden fooling Trell to put Cotter away - QLD butcher it but survive thanks to a penalty.
To'o loses it and they are not having a good time of it here the Blues. Jarome Luai just not in sync
Dropout recovered by the Blyes
Trell's grubber kick forces Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow to play at it. Goal line dropout to come for QLD.
PENALTY NSW: Second effort
Lomax takes that brilliantly! Great contest too - Val Holmes just BODIED... Angus Crichton.
QLD complete their set after points.
Holmes moves in, strikes it and it is successful from about 25 metres out and 20 metres in from touch. QLD lead the decider 2-0.
PENALTY QLD: High tackle from Stephen Crichton - lazy effort there and no one can argue that first penalty and they will go for goal.
Luai with a poor kick that allow QLD off the hook. Cleary was tackled on the last tackle and that threw them out of sequence.
NSW playing a lot more open than they did in Perth.
NSW with the first break of the game... Liam Martin down the right of the ground. From the ensuing play, Latrell Mitchell kicked on the third tackle that lets the Maroons off the hook.
Gehamat Shibasaki gets the welcome to Origin treatment ! Picked up and dumped.
Both sides through their opening sets to start this game - a nice conservative start to the decider.
OFF AND RUNNING!
Here come the two sides as we pause for the Welcome to Country and the National Anthem.
Referee for this one is Ashley Klein in his 20th Origin. Touch judges are Dave Munro and Chris Sutton with Chris Butler in the Bunker. The NRL haven't budged with the same officiating team that were in charge from Game 2.
NSW and QLD are locked together at 1-1 ahead of tonight's State of Origin decider. NSW took G1 in Brisbane, while QLD hit back in Perth. Tonight is all or nothing, a night that can make or break a player or a coach. It's a match that tinkers with sadness following the death of QLD captain Cam Munster's father Steve this week. In a brave move, Cam will play tonight for his father in what will be one of the bravest moves in Origin football. Both sides are as per the program sheet - 1-18.
