The Bulldogs, wearing a multicultural strip, are greeted to rapturous applause by their supporters.

Jamie Lyon leads the Sea Eagles out onto ANZ Stadium.

Having strung together four straight wins heading into last week’s clash with the Eels, the Sea Eagles face the task of needing to win all remaining matches to qualify for the finals, while relying on other results to fall their way.

With six wins from their past seven matches, the Bulldogs have flown largely under the radar in 2016, but as they have done so many times before, the Blue and Whites will be looking to time their run heading into September in order to give themselves the best possible chance of claiming their first title since 2004.

Both sides are as per program, with Lloyd Perrett and Kerrod Holland dropping off the bench for Canterbury, while Manly skipper Jamie Lyon returns after missing the past two matches with injury.

The Bulldogs have won the past five matches against the Sea Eagles, including a dominant display in the opening round of the season at Brookvale Oval.

Both sides come into tonight’s clash with strong ambitions; for Canterbury the chance to finish the weekend in third position should see Des Hasler’s men fired up, while the Sea Eagles must win in order to keep their faint finals hopes alive.

Welcome to League Unlimited’s coverage of Round 23 Thursday Night Football between the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Manly Sea Eagles at ANZ Stadium.
