Warriors have gone some way to getting their season on track with a 28-10 victory over the Broncos in front of 13,826 fans at Mt Smart Stadium.
It was a night where the Warriors big guns - Shaun Johnson, Kieran Foran and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck - needed to stand up and they did so in emphatic style with a dominant first half that helped them over an origin affected Brisbane Broncos side.
From the first minute, it was a re-energised New Zealand side, led by Shaun Johnson, who took on the line all night. His pace and step created the opener for Blake Ayshford before he stepped through the line himself to make it 10-nil.
He added a sharp grubber for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to get his fifth of the season to make it comfortable at the break, as like clockwork the Warriors start to kick up a gear around the origin period.
Broncos didn't let them have it all their own way though, Benji Marshall turned back the clock with a surging run that set up James Roberts first. The centre, who many have questioned why he wasn't added to the missing for the Broncos due to origin, made it a double after a well worked move in the Broncos own end.
The home side had too much firepower tonight - when needed, Isaac Luke darted from half to get Ken Maumalo across then reserve hooker Nathaniel Roache set up prop Jmaes Gavet to blow the scoreline out to 28-10.
Both sides are on the road next week, with Brisbane to face the Roosters at Allianz Stadium while the Warriors are at ANZ to play Parramatta.
