Papua New Guinea have a made a statement in their opening World Cup match with a 10 try demolish of Wales after a 50-6 victory at Port Moresby in front of a sell out crowd.
PNG made it a one-sided game early on with David Mead scroring a double inside the first 10 minutes and unsually Ase Boas missed both the conversions and subsequently was replaced in the goal kicking role.
Wales were being dominated in both attack and in defence by Papua New Guinea but it took until the 22nd minute score their third try of the match when he fought his way over to score and despite a live decision of No Try by Ben Cummins onfield, the Video Referee Jared Maxwell was happy that Nene McDonald had grounded the ball and PNG had their third of the afternoon.

After the siren Wales got their name on the scoresheet after a Hail Mary kick was put down by Garry Lo and an 80th minute try was all that Wales could manage in Port Moresby.
