1.

Last week: 5th

Suddenly have found themselves the form team of the comp. A really good win over the Dragons at ANZ yesterday. Premiership dark horse?

2.

Last week: 4th

Gave as good as they got against a relentless Knights side and came away with the points. Griffin has done a great job with this outfit.

3.

Last week: 1st

Looked a shell of the Dragons side we've come to know this season, although injuries and a below-fit Ben Hunt didn't help.

4.

Last week: 3rd

Drop a spot despite winning, primarily on the back of much slicker performances by other sides. Weren't at their best against a bit-part Titans outfit and now face a week or two without their captain.

5.

Last week: 6th

Commanding performance against a listless Warriors side, but they won't have it as easy every week. The combinations look to be gelling though, a positive sign.

6.

Last week: 2nd

No Shaun Johnson & Issac Luke = no Warriors. Truly awful showing against the Roosters. Need him back urgently, lacking direction without their first-choice 7 and 9.

7.

Last week: 8th

Four on the bounce, although none of them have been super-convincing. Results are important and they can make it five against the lowly 'Dogs on Sunday.

8.

Last week: 9th

Back in the winners circle after a lean run - downed a Cowboys side who were disappointing at best. Big test against Penrith looms on Thursday night.

9.

Last week: 7th

Bennett's got some issues to sort here. Could have and should have beaten Manly but their opposition just wanted it more.

10.

Last week: 10th

Footy is cruel and it felt like the Knights were cruelled a bit on Friday. Importantly they're not the rabble of previous seasons and there's still plenty of time to build on what they started.

11.

Last week: 11th

The rollercoaster ride continues for the Green Machine. Looked to have Cronulla beaten but as so often has happened at GIO in recent years, couldn't complete the 80 minute effort.

12.

Last week: 13th

Finally jagged a win - crucial for the 'Dogs fading hopes of having any impact this season. Can consider themselves lucky after Gutherson's mishap in the dying minutes.

13.

Last week: 12th

The turbulence resumed in a disappointing performance against a Wests Tigers team which looked like it was returning to form on Thursday. Paul Green's new contract might need revision if they cop a hammering from the Bunnies this Saturday.

14.

Last week: 16th

Showed what they're capable of with a quality performance against Brisbane at 'Brookvale North'. Won't have it as easy against the Storm - although their opponents will be missing some key players.

15.

Last week: 14th

One can only feel desperately sorry for Clint Gutherson after his swing-and-a-miss handed Canterbury a win on Friday at ANZ. The Eels of the last few weeks are certainly a step above the side that started the season with six straight losses, but remain a few steps below being taken seriously this season.

16.

Last week: 15th

A season that started with surprising promise is quickly fading as Garth Brennan adjusts to life as an NRL head coach. Little-to-no lineup consistency and the Bryce Cartwright lottery aren't helping matters either. Challenged Storm a bit but were never going to go the distance.
