The Roosters lineup is a lotto draw. From the 17 named Tuesday, Ryan Hall, Drew Hutchison, Lindsay Collins and Sitili Tupouniua drop out. The resulting changes see Brett Morris return in the centres, Matt Ikuvalu on the wing, Latrell Mitchell to play five-eighth, Isaac Liu to prop with Zane Tetevano benched, similarly Mitch Aubusson starts back-row with Angus Crichton benched. Nat Butcher is promoted to lock with Poasa Faamausili and Lachlan Lam added to the bench.

Melbourne lost Marion Seve on Thursday with Justin Olam coming into the centres, while Ryan Papenhuyzen replaces a late withdrawal in Jahrome Hughes. Tui Kamikamica joins the bench.
